I'm Cllr Lucy Care, Derby City Council's cycling champion. If more people choose to cycle, there'll be more space on Derby's roads for those who need to drive!
Cycle commuters and walkers have the shortest commuting times, according to a study, with riders travelling for almost 10 minutes less every day than drivers. https://t.co/9B3O4SvdQo
My son asked me to explain #Brexit recently. So, I told him to imagine if he & 27 of his classmates pooled their Lego & built for years. Then one day, one of them wants to leave & would like their Lego back. The blue ones.
He immediately grasped how complicated that would be.
It's not just schools and pupils that will benefit. It should mean fewer cars, less congestion and improved air quality. Do encourage YOUR local school to sign up - and you can get involved yourself too! See https://t.co/hSvUpCRznY
@cyclingindustry@Cycle_Derby @ebikesderby Hopefully you'll already be building on ebike usage data, but can I put a plea in for Littleover Village, Heatherton Village, Mickleover Village and Silverhill, Devonshire Dr & Prince Charles Ave shops to build the links to the Royal Derby which is a bit of an outpost at present.
The City Council's plans to improve air quality in Stafford Street are now out for consultation. https://t.co/kPzhm2wBfH
Please consider them, and respond.
How might they be improved? What doesn't work? What more do you need to know.

I've been asked "More hubs, please. And more ebikes to go in them!"
But it's important to look after the ones we have too. So please follow this advice to help everyone. Thanks.
