38 min cycle to work.
45 minute drive MINIMUM with the morning traffic in Exeter, especially in term time.
Insanely delicious cycle path down the estuary.
Don’t know why more people aren’t cycling.
@solusts@ThatArrowsmith@rickymidlands It’s how the contracts are offered by the client/ employer.
They don’t want to hire a perm and have pension responsibilities and not be able to sack them. So they hire contractors at shite rates as “employees” with no benefits who pay like 60% tax lol
@TomJoad32@CarlowWeather Omg I’ve BEEEN asking about this. A lot of newsreaders and radio presenters use “an historic”, and they are trained public speakers. What is correct?
An historic does not sound right to me at all
@ThatArrowsmith@rickymidlands Try that but under IR35 “self employed” status (taxed as an employee with zero benefits of being actually employed).
Also pay the employers NI, employers pension contributions, apprenticeship levy, as well as all regular PAYE deductions out of your gross.
Insane.
@michaelblackcab 1. At 0:20 you had clear view ahead and easy opportunity to overtake
2. Looks like a 20mph road anyway, you would have arrived at that red light about 3 seconds sooner and this whole thing cost you exactly 00:00 extra journey time?
@a1kwb1@FightBatch I don’t think we want to live in a world where if somebody causes a mild inconvenience, members of the public may execute them on the spot…
@stillbullish1@NormanBrennan@MayorofLondon You’re not a coward if you try to intervene, unarmed, in a knife fight. You’re just a fucking idiot.
Why on earth would you risk your life for these animals
@crazyclips_ Maybe if she hadn’t chosen a 3 tonne 50ft long volcano apocalypse expedition vehicle to transport 20kg of child, could have sound somewhere more convenient to park.
America tho so I get it
@landeur@NotFarLeftAtAll - super high earners pay however much tax they please.
that is also with zero job security. No holiday pay. no sick pay. no annual leave. no company provided equipment. no company car. own PI insurances. no employer pension contributions. nothing.
That is fucking absurd tbh.
@landeur@NotFarLeftAtAll if he's self employed under an IR35 contract, the gross pay was probably more like 2000.
under contract with NHS my weekly pay was around 1300-1400, and I was regularly deducted more than £700 in taxes.
It's utterly fucking ridiculous to tax middle earners so much and -
@AllisonPearson absolutely nothing to do with the miniscule green tax.
Absolutely everyhthing to do with government appointed corrupt governing body OFWAT and corporate fraud + greed. Legal Oligopolies raping citizens because they can. We all put up with it
