Great thread addressing homophobia in hip hop amidst the Isaiah Rashad situation. It's been so heartbreaking to see this cycle continue, and folks wonder why rappers don't feel comfortable being their authentic selves.
I sincerely hope he is okay right now.
The Isaiah Rashad situation is very complicated.
In one sense, it reminds you that hip hop remains homophobic (like the rest of the music industry) but it also reinforces the continuous disdain and infatuation folks who don't care about LGBTQIA people still care.
