This afternoon, I was taking my boys out to eat. When we entered the pay at entry restaurant, there was an old couple struggling in the line. The man was falling down and the wife was trying desperately to keep him upright. We got him a chair and she went to her car to get his walker.
My boys stood with the man and chatted with him and I felt it in my heart to pay for their meal. I didn't tell them I was doing so but I guess it was obvious because later the wife came and found me.
She approached me with tears in her eyes and asked if I had paid. I was honest and said yes. Then she grabbed me and gave me this huge hug. It was so touching honestly and I'm really not a hugger but it was a whole moment.
Later on, she flagged me down again. She handed me a twenty dollar bill. She insisted I take it and told me to get something for the boys like an ice cream or you know, whatever.
I could tell she was so grateful and I didn't turn her down. She could never know we live in our own financially tough times.
But this is what America should be... every day people helping each other live in harmony. Giving people hand ups and not hand outs. This is the America I want.
@Grognak161 I understand because I have adhd which I learned from twitter means if I haven’t seen something or someone in a few minutes I forget they exist entirely
@hypnoksa@annitried The operative word here being “falsely.” You have some gosh darn nerve to compare & liken JB to H****r, when we all know who the “patriotic” parasite is that publicly idolizes that monster.
@AnAmazingFeat That’s why your Barbies would vacay in my beach house so they could use the slide and land in the “pool” aka the bucket of water we put underneath 🤣
@___Wordsmiff___ Not wilding, you’re lucky because that is an amazing meal. I had a chicken samosa for breakfast yesterday, you’re in a judgment free zone
