Even after they were released w/no charges filed, the money was not returned. B/c of Oklahoma’s civil asset forfeiture laws, law enforcement doesn’t have to file criminal charges to seize money if they can prove its more likely than not the money was gained thru criminal activity

Two men driving thru Canadian County had over $100,000 in cash confiscated by a sheriff during a routine traffic stop.

The men—of Vietnamese descent—were on their way to buy some farmland. They had saved up the money for many years.
