Researchers show that Claude Code is 98% not AI.
Anthropic never gave us the architecture for Claude Code. There were no docs. Just a tool that every developer is currently obsessing over.
Until it leaked recently.
A research team pulled the source code, analyzed all 500,000 lines, and found something ridiculous.
Only 1.6% of the codebase actually interacts with the AI model.
The core of Claude Code is literally just a simple while-loop. It asks the model what to do, runs a tool, and repeats.
So what is the other 98.4%?
It is hardcore, traditional software engineering.
The researchers found a massive, complex infrastructure designed entirely to babysit the AI and keep it from hallucinating or destroying your computer:
- A 7-mode permission system acting as a security bouncer.
- A 5-layer context compaction pipeline so the AI doesn't forget its goal.
- A subagent delegation mechanism with strict worktree isolation.
- Four different extensibility hooks to manage external tools safely.
Every startup right now is trying to build a better AI model to get better results.
Anthropic did the exact opposite.
They took an existing model and built a fortress of deterministic software around it.
They realized that the AI doesn't need to be smarter. It needs to be managed.
This is the point. Same will happen in all countries that will make social media age restrictions. “Won’t someone think of the children” is usually not about the children
@LukasHozda Sometimes the models start acting like this, while previously they were OK... happened to me with Github Copilot + Claude 5.4. Some days they just switch of their helpfullnes mode.
I want a runtime-known fixed size container of a non-default-constructible, non-copyable, non-movable type. vector::reserve understandably requires copyability (might need to copy if not empty)
Any suggestions? Made my own container with std::allocator. Vector initial size when?
Andrej Babiš obvinil bývalou vládu, že dělala “prodrogovou politiku, pánové Vobořil a Bém”.
Člověk si nemůže pamatovat všechno, ale Béma jmenoval do funkce protidrogového koordinátora letos 16. ledna - Andrej Babiš a označil ho za “skutečného odborníka”.
@eckoxsoldier Ice and snow. I'm honestly a big fan of Bedrock having a list of good seeds for your very first world. Kids don't mind, they start a new creative seed every time they start to play and never go back 😂
Mojang should take inspiration from their spinoff Minecraft Legends and add a 2x2 poplar tree that contains all the 3 colors of poplar leaves like this one, aaaaahhhh it would look so great
At Minecraft Live they took extra effort to specifically mention longer term updates, and that their "drop team" is separate to it.
Something is being worked on for "adventures", we just don't know when it will release, but it will have more development time than a normal drop
@Atlasfdx@lizterzapzap a huge amount of people never go to the end and don't defeat the dragon - and I'm not sure how an end update will improve that. Spending a couple of years on endgame content for only a small fraction of the playerbase (disregard the vocal minority and content creators) is a risk.
For the most part, everything you see, read and hear online travels to you through a corporate-owned algorithmic filter. Even though you can't see or touch or change that filter, you are only exposed to what that filter wants you to be exposed to, or will allow you to find.
This is an enormous part of the democracy crisis - and one of the key ways oligarchy controls the entire society.
