On Friday 5th May we are celebrating King Charles' Coronation! Your child can wear their own clothes with a 'red, white and blue' theme for a £1 donation via ParentPay to The Princes Trust. Children will be taking part in activities and a party outside weather permitting.

This week is Mental Health Week at St Cyprian's. As well as focusing on mental health, we will be holding a cake sale on Thursday 9th February and your child is invited to 'Dress to Impress' on Friday 10th February for a donation of £1 direct to Place2Be.

The Healthy School Streets Scheme takes effect from 23rd January 2023, please do not drive your car into the area between 8-9.30am and 2-4pm, Monday to Friday during term time.
Our Key Stage 1 classes are doing a great job of improving their writing skills. Pupils are really concentrating on their letter formation and using finger spaces in between words. We are looking forward to seeing more fantastic work after half term.

Year 3 are learning about forces in science. The focus of this week’s lesson was a discussion about magnets. Children found it fascinating that Earth is a giant magnet and they enjoyed trying out different magnets and drawing diagrams of magnetic fields.
This week we had our Agiasmos assembly. This is an important part of the Greek Orthodox Faith. Agiasmos is the Greek word for the Blessing of the Waters. Our Parish priest, Father George, came in to bless our school, pupils and members of staff with holy water.

Zakynthos class love art lessons and always show a great enthusiasm for learning. Last week, as part of their topic work on Apartheid and Mandela they sketched portraits of Nelson Mandela. The class were really focused during this activity and enjoyed creating fantastic art.
This term Year 3 have been studying the life of Nelson Mandela. In this history lesson they learnt about the apartheid in South Africa and more about Mandela. To consolidate their learning they created a giant timeline of Mandela’s life and took it outside to put it in order.
We welcomed Charlotte Williams into school for our Dream Catcher assembly. Charlotte is an estate manager for the @WoodlandTrust, who visits different woodland around the South of England as part of her job. She inspired pupils to do a job they truly love like she does.

Year 3 Zakynthos class have been learning about Nelson Mandela’s life and achievements. As part of their English lesson, they created freeze frames to capture how Mr Mandela would have been feeling during his first day at school.
