À sa première participation en tant que membre de plein droit de l'Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, à la 46e Conférence ministérielle de la Francophonie (#CMF46) à Kigali, autour du thème central de la contribution des femmes dans l'espace francophone 30 ans après la Conférence de Beijing, Chypre a mis en avant ses actions au niveau national ainsi que sa contribution internationale en faveur de l'égalité des genres et de la réalisation des objectifs de la Déclaration de Beijing.

The Republic of Cyprus will not remain passive nor will tolerate the usurpation of the Greek Cypriot owned properties in its occupied by Türkiye areas.

Despite the ongoing Turkish occupation, the Republic of Cyprus as a law-abiding state is obliged to safeguard the rule of law and protect its national interests by implementing its laws, thus, fulfilling its duty of shedding light to the large extent of these unlawful activities.

The severity of offences related with the usurpation of Greek Cypriot owned properties in the occupied areas is demonstrated by today’s unanimous decision of the Assize Court of Nicosia. An individual, upon admission of committing the aforementioned offences, was convicted to serve five years of imprisonment.

The latter decision sends a strong message about the severe consequences that befall upon any person who is actively involved or attempts to be involved in the international chain that has been established around the usurpation of Greek Cypriot owned properties in the occupied areas.

Together with @UNOPS & with the contribution of @AllHandsHearts, @CyprusMFA held a briefing to the accredited Diplomatic Missions in Cyprus on the additive #Amalthea maritime route providing humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.

The focus was on next steps and scaling up the volume of donations of the humanitarian aid for delivery from #Cyprus 🇨🇾 via the #Amalthea maritime corridor under the UN2720 mechanism.

Looking forward to amplifying collective engagement with more partners.
