But if I don’t need to generate images and am just working with code in a fairly complex system, Claude Code still works out cheaper. I’m not writing this because I’m some kind of die-hard Antropic fan, but whether I like it or not, I have to factor in the costs.
After entering a few prompts in Grok, it used up 50% of my limits despite having an X Pro Plus subscription – so I’m paying $100 a month – whereas with Claude I work regularly and still just about manage, but I’m still within the $200 limit.
I’d like to give the competition a chance, provided the competition gives me a chance financially.

Moje początki motocyklowe to ta maszyna, oczywiście frajda była co nie miara dla dzieciaka jakim wówczas byłem w świecie wolności na wsi gdzie zmartwieniem było tylko paliwo i czy się nie rozkraczy po drodze co było wielce prawdopodobne bo to było straszne gówno 😉
Ale to gówno dawało wiele frajdy, silnik potrafiłem rozebrać chyba z zamkniętymi oczami, wiecznie wyciskał olej, paliwo z gaźnika, chyba każdy użytkownik tej maszyny kaskaderskiej miał bliznę na łydce od tłumika.
Sentyment jest, ale technicznie to było totalnie badziewie.

Ostrzegała przed malware typu SpyNote – wirusem na telefonach, który:
udaje niewinne aplikacje (np. „Czy to ty na filmiku?”),
obserwuje ekran, hasła i SMS-y,
zdalnie otwiera aplikację bankową i opr��żnia konto do zera.
Podkreślała, że w drugiej połowie 2024 r. taki wirus odpowiadał za 40–50% kradzieży z kont bankowych. Banki miały to naprawić do końca I kwartału 2025 r. Żadnych słów o „67 bilionach rubli zainfekowanych wirusem”, konfiskacie ani „spaleniu” pieniędzy.
Skąd „67 bilionów”?
To prawdziwa liczba – na początek 2026 r. Rosjanie mieli w bankach rekordowe ok. 67 bln RUB (w tym ok. 46–47 bln na depozytach terminowych). Dane Banku Rosji, wynik wysokich stóp procentowych w 2025 r. Nabiullina mówiła o tym w kontekście ryzyka odpływu środków przy obniżkach stóp, a nie konfiskaty.
Podsumowanie
Ktoś połączył dwie prawdziwe informacje (wirus kradnący pieniądze + rekordowe depozyty) i dodał sensacyjną końcówkę o państwie palącym oszczędności. Klasyczny fake news, który ma wywołać panikę. Nie ma żadnych dowodów na plany przymusowej konfiskaty oszczędności Rosjan.

Nadal to jednak bardziej skomplikowane, a taka narracja wpisuje się idealnie w taki dość secyficzny sposób polskiego narodowego myślenia, albo martyrologia, albo własna głupota, a może czasami po prostu jest masa zewnętrznych czynników i nie trzeba się tak umartwiać?
Generalnie głupota nie jest jakaś wyjątkową polską narodową cechą, a po prostu ludzką.

Historia z patentem Microsoftu na ANS-a jest jednocześnie wkurzająca i fascynująca, bo z jednej strony to klasyczny przykład „dziękujemy bardzo za darmowy wynalazek, teraz my go sobie opatentujemy z kilkoma kosmetycznymi bajerami”, a z drugiej nie jest to aż tak czarno-białe, jak czasem się pisze.
Kluczowe fakty w pigułce (stan na 2026):
1. Jarek Duda nigdy nie opatentował ANS-a i rANS-a celowo zostawił to jako public domain, żeby każdy mógł używać za darmo, dzięki temu mamy zstandard w Linuksie, Androidzie, Chrome, Meta, Apple LZFSE, CRAM w bioinformatyce itd.
2. Microsoft w 2019 złożył patent US11234023B2 na „Features of range asymmetric number system encoding and decoding”.
Nie jest to patent na sam ANS/rANS, tylko na konkretny zestaw usprawnień sprzętowych + adaptacyjnych sztuczek przy dekodowaniu (dwufazowy dekoder, adaptacyjne przełączanie szerokości symboli, kilka statycznych modeli na raz, selektywne flushowanie itd.).
Najbardziej wkurzające: w opisie patentowym sami cytują prace Jarka jako prior art, czyli wiedzą, że to na bazie jego wynalazku, a mimo to USPTO im to przepuściło (po walce, bo najpierw odrzucili).
Czy ten patent realnie blokuje JPEG XL?
Według Jona Sneyersa (głównego architekta JPEG XL) – na dzień dzisiejszy NIE.
JPEG XL używa statycznej wersji rANS, a patent Microsoftu celuje głównie w rzeczy adaptacyjne i mocno zoptymalizowane pod hardware, libjxl (referencyjna implementacja) jest czysta patentowo.
Ale…
Nawet jeśli nie blokuje JPEG XL bezpośrednio to tworzy FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt).
Mały projekt, startup, a nawet duża firma może się przestraszyć i pomyśleć „o kurde, Microsoft ma patent na rANS → lepiej nie ruszajmy”. I to jest największa szkoda.
Podsumowując po ludzku:
Jarek dał ��wiatu genialny algorytm za darmo → świat go ochoczo wziął → Microsoft wziął go jeszcze raz i powiedział „to teraz nasze, bo dodaliśmy trzy ify i jedną pętlę unrolled”.
I to boli najbardziej.
Ale jednocześnie JPEG XL i tak sobie pięknie żyje, jest w Windowsie 11/12, w Chrome/Edge, w libjxl, w Imagemagicku itd. więc polska technologia i tak wygrywa na froncie praktycznym.
Tylko szkoda, że autor tego wynalazku nadal nie dostał ani złotówki, ani żadnego „dzięki ziom” od wielkich graczy.
