My husband @CyrilCarnel opened a gîte at the beginning of the year on the Somme Battlefields. Couldn’t be more proud of what a fantastic job he’s doing welcoming visitors to this special place.

From Les Galets you can easily walk to a number of First World War memorials.The 51st Highland Division is a few kilometres away, located within the Newfoundland Memorial Park. The sculpture of a Scottish soldier flanked by lions commemorates the Division’s actions of 13/11/16.

I’m delighted to say that Les Galets is welcoming visitors once more. My aunt Julie ran a B&B here, welcoming visitors to the Somme Battlefields for almost 30 years. I hope she’d be proud of the work my husband has done to the place. I certainly am 🥰 https://t.co/2sEgqFUpBl
