@thef1diplomat Yeah the overtake is really powerful Kimi was deploying more on all the straights and on the long back straight he was on average 25kph up on George and vice versa while trailing. You need like at least half a second of pure advantage to actually break away
@FDataAnalysis I feel like deployment can be left at 350KW for tracks like Monaco, Hungary, Singapore but definitely needs to be reduced for tracks like monza, Spa and Baku. Also harvesting limit per lap needs to be lowered for some tracks.
🗣️"Having a crash at 360, 370km/h is going to be pretty crazy."
Mercedes #F1 driver George Russell has urged the FIA to look into safety improvements over the "pretty crazy" top speeds the 2026 cars will be capable of 🤯

Very unfortunate timing yesterday pitting from the lead and the safety car coming out 20 seconds later. As frustrating as it was, that’s racing sometimes. Glad to see @OllieBearman walk away from the crash 🙏 More racing soon and thanks for all of the support! 🇯🇵
Following the accident involving Oliver Bearman at the Japanese Grand Prix and the contribution of high closing speeds in the accident, the FIA would like to provide the following clarifications.

@georgesrussells I’m just taking comfort in the fact that this was the exact top 3 in Melbourne fp2. We will see tomorrow if their pace is genuine or not
@HarshitNar21495@overtakefans@cytrusf1 The point is it never was flat out and it won’t be this year. The discussion is mainly about whether flat out sections last year would not be anymore for harvesting purposes.
