It is now confirmed Bandhumaan Sekhon, who was in Canada on a work visa, was released on bail after facing gun and extortion charges. He was released with an ankle monitor, cut it off and fled the country.

How does someone that is not a Canadian citizen and known gang member involved in organized crime get released with such serious charges?
