hi I've just been hit by a car that should've killed me, miraculously survived, before I was going to get a new job and I have over $2k in credit card debt. I hate having to e-beg online but I'm literally left with no choice

@ShinyStallion9@manyyyee plus also john byrne compared myself and people like me to pedophiles so forgive me if I'm not enthused to see the best in his writing despite how unbiased I want to be
@ShinyStallion9@manyyyee yeah, I don't. really care about that. I care about quality storytelling and if it feels right for the character. the patriotism of the wwii era and of the 80s are different to me, which is why one makes sense and the other feels off
@SageShinigami it's not headcanon? it's called literary analysis. it's essentially canon in multiple eras. I would suggest some comics to pick up but you clearly have read them, you just somehow can't see the subtext going on here
@ShinyStallion9@manyyyee I doubt it would get a lot of backlash because people celebrate him as an immigrant character and the encouragement of green cards is a good thing! the problem is many current politicians wanna do away with them for certain people for the wrong reasons
@Skeleton__Kat read superman: where is thy sting, superman: kryptonite, for the man who had everything, and if you like a bit of triangle era, I'm fond of the era he lost and regained his powers (final night thru start of blue superman) cause why is he STILL throwing himself in harms' way
@hawkofkrypton even though the problem here isn't the neck snap itself, it's that it was a contrived stupid as fuck situation written in solely just to make him kill for the grit factor
When someone’s favorite superhero is Spider-man cause he is relatable, his stories have romance, he works for a newspaper and he struggles with his secret identity but they also hate Superman:
@CQuill97@FitMarshmellow it shouldn't be with a hug and a pat on the back for considering good, it should be throwing sticks and rope down the hole you dug yourself and going "fine, now show me how you're gonna build that ladder out"
redemption should not be easy or full of smiles. it's hard work
@CQuill97@FitMarshmellow imo a redeemer who explicitly rebukes the "power of friendship" style of that dealing would work best. if someone wants to redeem themselves under his wing, it should be hard hard work, especially depending on the severity of their crimes
@ShinyStallion9@manyyyee I can understand much of the stuff he wanted to do couldn't be done, due to mandates. that still doesn't make what he did good
@ShinyStallion9@manyyyee > His Clark was based on the George Reeves 1950s version.
a tv show, not the comics
> Did you know that DC in joint with the US Government even used Superman on ads for Greencards and Amnesty programs?
big difference between this and what byrne did imo
