Tulane “stuck in neutral?” That’s laughable.

Over the last five seasons, Tulane has been one of the five winningest programs in FBS, with multiple 10+ win seasons, two conference championships, a Cotton Bowl victory, and a College Football Playoff appearance. We’ve done it through coaching changes, roster turnover, and in the NIL/transfer portal era.

If that’s “neutral,” I’d love to know what “trending upward” looks like.

This isn’t analysis. It’s reputation bias disguised as a ranking. The results on the field tell a completely different story. #RollWave 🌊

Tulane’s in-state rival is LSU. It has been that way for more than 110 years.

Memphis is always a tough, competitive matchup, regardless of the sport. Since Tulane and Memphis were members of the Metro 7 Conference, there’s been an added edge whenever they meet.

But let’s not confuse a competitive conference opponent with a historic rival. LSU is, and always will be, Tulane’s primary rival.

I’ll always believe Willie Fritz has been Tulane’s most influential coach since 1998. He didn’t just win games, he built a program. Over eight seasons, he laid the foundation for the success we’re enjoying today. I don’t know all the reasons he left, but I’m grateful for everything he did for Tulane.

Building on that strong foundation, Jon Sumrall stepped in and kept the momentum going. This isn’t a knock on him at all, in fact, he deserves credit for sustaining and advancing what Fritz started over those eight years.

With that continuity in mind, it’s now Will Hall’s turn to take the reins. The foundation is firmly in place, and the next step is winning College Football Playoff games and taking Tulane to even greater heights. Roll Wave!
