Chikwatula Macademia Cooperative in Ntchisi has 58 members with 16650 trees of Macademia nuts.
One of the members Mr. Kapakasa has 950 trees of Macademiabnuts and produces 3,250 Kgs annually which he sells at MK3,000/kg realizing total revenue of MK9,750,000 per year.
In the same vein, the African Day of Food and Nutrition Security aims at encouraging African governments to address the twin challenges of food insecurity and malnutrition across the continent and is commemorated on 30th October every year

The 18th National Agriculture Fair (NAF) has attracted a good number of exhibitors ranging from farmer organisations, seed companies, agro dealers, government departments, financial institutions, manufacturers and many others.
Speaking when he officially opened the fair, Minister of Agriculture honorable Lobin Clarke Lowe MP, challenged the exhibitors to maintain or improve further the quality and standard of products or services they have displayed this year when coming to the next fair next year.

The Minister of Agriculture, Honorable Lobin Clarke Lowe has today officially opened the 18th National Agriculture Fair at Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre.
Lowe challenged farmers and other players in the agriculture sector to make use of existing projects such as Agricultural Commercialisation (AGCOM) Project and Shire Valley Transformation Programme (SVAP) to commercialise agriculture and venture into irrigation farming.
