What's the one thing that we can do to drive collaboration?
According to @BHedtGauthier proximity matters. We need to create spaces where we can link different individuals.
What's the one thing that we can do to drive collaboration?
According to Anjelou Marie Estrella, stakeholders need to set aside personal interests and accept new changes.
What's the one thing that we can do to drive collaboration?
According to @TungaMahadia collaborations start with trust, and being honest about what you want to achieve so sustainable networks can be built.
How do we ensure the expertise is retained and avoid brain drain?
According to @BHedtGauthier:
▪️ Training enough people and eventually, you will reach
saturation.
▪️ Continued professional development opportunities
and autonomy
"We need to support and reward programs that really invest in diversity. There isn't a magic bullet, but let's invest in the programs that are doing it right" @BHedtGauthier
How do we ensure that our AI models are designed with equity?
Representation matters according to @BHedtGauthier. "We need to engage women, people from rural communities, and diverse fields of study. Giving an eye to communities who have been excluded is incredibly important"
What are the educational models that work?
At @dLabTz the central pillar is community engagement. Whenever there is a new project they run a "listening campaign" where they go to the community and identify the pertinent challenge. This makes the community part of the solution.
According to Anjelou Marie Estrella, the people experiencing the problem should be part of the solution. We need to shift our educational investment to the people who need it the most.
"Training is essential because when you are deploying the tools to rural areas you want them to be sustained. You want the community to own the solution." @TungaMahadia
