@Marcus_Mosher They HAD to recoup some picks after trading the 2 5ths for Downs. Sometimes the phone doesn’t ring so if the only call was a division rival overpaying by a 4th rounder, you do that every day of the week.
@DanielOyefusi CLE Got +18 on the Rich Hill chart vs +17 on the hypothetical 12 + 20 for 6 + 39 so yeah, the swap wasn’t crazy.
I will say, getting Fano + 3rd and 5th is an absolute home run for CLE as is Cowboys got Downs with a minor move up.
Cheers on a good night one for both!
@DanielOyefusi If using the Rich Hill model, 9 + 39 is 599 while 12 + 20 is 616. Why would Dallas need to add 112? If anything based on that model, Cleveland should be sending a 5th no Dallas.
I think both would benefit from just straight up 6/39 for 12/20
@CWasdyke19@HaydenWinks I understand teams use 30 visits differently and having a guy in isn’t a prerequisite to drafting them.
My push back in this situation would be they pick at 2 and they know who’s going 1. Why not use that time to get a head start if you know you’re picking him?
@NickHarrisFWST Agreed. Way I see it, Cincy was almost *guaranteed* to go defense.
Now pick 10 could be OL/WR or pick 5 could flip from Styles/Downs to Tate/Tyson and then 10 could be a defense or possibly OL. Swings the odds favorably for another offensive going that wouldn’t have
@BobbyBeltTX Way I see it, Cincy was almost *guaranteed* to go defense. Now pick 10 could be OL/WR or pick 5 could flip from Styles/Downs to Tate/Tyson and then 10 could be a defensive target or possibly OL. Swings the odds favorably for another offensive going that wouldn’t have
@OHSPORTS09@DanielOyefusi Brother, the pic you posted is from Drafttek’s website. I’ve lived in that site every Jan-Apr for the last 5+ years. They only have two charts: the Rich Hill and Jimmy Johnson. JJ starts at 3000 points for the first pick, RH at 1000. You are literally too dumb to even insult
@OHSPORTS09@DanielOyefusi We went from the Rich Hill Chart which uses historical trade data from post-2011 CBA draft day trades to the Jimmy Johnson Chart created in the 90s?
Here’s the Spielberg chart also created a decade ago. CLE giving up 3235 and Dallas giving up 3223.
@OHSPORTS09@DanielOyefusi You know there was a 6 to 12 trade two years ago right? Detriot/Arizona. Why not use the more recent trade that doesn’t involve future picks? Oh that’s right, cause the value DET got then isn’t dissimilar to the hypothetical trade we are discussing so it doesnt fit your narrative
@OHSPORTS09@DanielOyefusi You literally said “they should be overpaying by more than a 4th or 5th”. So you acknowledge it’s already an overpay but want more of an overpay only to say it’s not lopsided? You’re already getting more value, get out of here
@OHSPORTS09@DanielOyefusi You can just say your bias towards your team and want a lopsided deal.
Let’s flip it. Say CLE wants to move from 24 to 12 which is a 110 point difference. With your logic, giving up 39 (153 points) is fair cause you should overpay to move up?
@OHSPORTS09@DanielOyefusi That’s the whole point of trade charts, to weigh higher picks more and Dallas would be overpaying by a late 4 or early 5 in this scenario.
Also have to factor ARI/TEN/CLE/WAS being rumored to possibly trading back. It might be a buyers market and make moving up cheaper
@Nate_Tice You can barely see it here but the TV copy of the replay shows Ferg telling Dak to throw it up. Great trust and chemistry on the seam ball between them
