If it does have anything to do with the California / Nevada parts of the setting, I hope they retcon as much of the TV show as they can.
I doubt they will, but I can hope.
Hopefully it's in a new locale and not just "New Vegas 2". A direct sequel would be a) uninspired, and b) thematically inconsistent with the first game merely by existing.
Though considering the TV show ruined any inkling of proper "theme" in Fallout I guess that doesn't matter.
Bloomberg: Obsidian Entertainment cancels planned Avowed sequel and pivots to new Fallout title, led by New Vegas director Josh Sawyer

wow thats crazy
hey remember when they had the potential to have a massive media franchise about cute animal girls that had such a low bedget you could buy a bigmac with it but then they fired the director for putting out content FOR FREE and tanked the whole project?
@luci0530@BrodieOnLinux A lot of people seem to be missing the fact that the project in question doesn't actually illegally distribute anything.
From their page: "No copyrighted game assets, binaries, or master data are distributed in this repository".
It cannot be used without first owning the game.
A mentally ill woman from the jungle islands of southeast Asia has thoughts and opinions on space exploration that everyone should definitely take seriously.
@Nekrokorpse@Moe_12344@vad_asor@LookAtMyMeat1 Wow FO2 moved it an inch to the left (from empty desert to... empty desert) to fit better on its game map.
This is obviously exactly the same as moving it hundreds of miles south and telefragging a different city.
I was screaming in excitement when I saw they paid homage to the opening cutscene in Fallout: New Vegas.
When I saw that NCR Armor and heard the music, I was in Fallout Heaven.
The Fallout show rewards the gamers so much with scenes like this and I love it!
@James78073@EnclaveEmily The show acts like the entirety of the NCR was just Shady Sands for some reason. Borders? Security checkpoints? Patrols? Caravan escorts? Nah, anyone can just walk up to the town unopposed and unquestioned.
@sigilante@extradeadjcb No. Nearly every character is an insufferable moron, most of the attempts at humor are incredibly unfunny, it takes half of season 2 for anything to happen because it wastes time on boring B-plots, and the main plot is incredibly shallow writing-wise anyway.
@valiant3112@Mr_S3rv3r@LookAtMyMeat1 No, dictatorship doesn't bother me. And what evil? Requesting the Brotherhood's extermination? I'm actually quite enthusiastic about doing that.
@Mr_S3rv3r@LookAtMyMeat1 Imagine being locked in a pod-computer for 200 years, searching all that time for the one thing your entire plan hinges on, and when it's finally right in front of you after so much time and effort, the mailman decides not to finish the delivery. You'd be pissed too.
@Serpent_87 @Creetosis22 Everything you listed, including the bugs, is big enough in-universe to have actual meat on it. The show's "flea soup" is literally an old lady rubbing normal tiny fleas off of her own scalp into a pot of boiling water. It's beyond retarded.
@Goofius_Maximus@Redbrickadam22@pinglyadya FO2 shifted it a bit west along with Vault 13 and Vault 15. It's still in the same general area (i.e. the middle of nowhere).
@Mr_S3rv3r@LaundryGuy1945 1. He only kills the Kings if they work with the NCR.
2. He primarily squeezes NCR tourists dry. Besides, what do you think that money is for? It's to fund rebuilding & industrializing the wider area once he's able to consolidate control outside of the Strip.
@MaarsComics@ShitpostRock "Some freedoms". The show's story is full of the lamest and most thematically shallow nonsense possible in a way that comes across as downright spiteful.
