PSU led Iowa 24-19 with less than 5 minutes left. Needed a stop.

Jim Knowles' defense was overwhelmed by UCLA. Penn State never led that one.

Truly can’t believe the Franklin era is over. He brought this program back to national relevance again. Gave us a lot of great memories. But it’s time to move on.

I’ll always be thankful for what he did for Penn State, and I really wish he could’ve been the guy to get it done.

@namenotsteve @RealCGriff I think it was all the preseason expectations after last year combined with Fraklin’s past failures in big games. Huge let down. In reality, they were never going to be as good as last year after losing their 2 best players to the NFL

Franklin is the common denominator in the poor performances the past decade plus though, I think the Oregon game was the final straw that broke the camel’s back. Gotta tear it all down and restart
