Stephen A. Smith publicly APOLOGIZES to Kyrie Irving after calling him "selfish" for refusing the COVID jab.
"Hindsight-wise, it didn’t make him stubborn or selfish. It made him BRAVE."
"I watched Dr. Fauci on Capitol Hill yesterday, and the person I thought about most was Kyrie Irving."
“Kyrie Irving stood out in my mind because of the heat that he was taking... He refused the vaccine. New York City's mandate made him ineligible for home games, and he linked his stance to people losing jobs over vaccine mandates."
“In my opinion, particularly hindsight-wise, it didn't make him stubborn or selfish. It made him brave. His willingness to stand up and say, ‘Nah, I'm not doing that.’
“It's just a time for reflection — to look at things differently.”
Kyrie gave up $11,400,000 in game checks during the 21-22 NBA season and a $100,000,000 extension with the Nets to be unvaccinated.
That cements his holdout as the largest financial sacrifice any athlete has ever made over an issue in history.
Do I want new music from Nicki Minaj? Of course. But honestly, not right now. I need her to starve the industry until everyone finally respects her name and stops trying to discredit her by comparing her to these clones.
They claimed she wasn't giving other female rappers a chance, right? Well, here is their chance to shine let's see what happens. Mind you, I'm not listening to any other artist until my fave drops.
🚨 The hypocrisy in our community is LOUD and UNSANE.
All the same Black folks who attacked, dragged, and called Nicki Minaj every name in the book for simply saying she agreed with President Trump...
...were right there packing out Ye (Kanye West) concerts, smiling, vibing, and praising him like nothing happened.
Jason Lee — you dragged and mocked Nicki for supporting Trump, but got caught front and center at Kanye's show? Even though Ye has been riding with Trump harder and longer than almost anybody in the game.
Deon Cole — you went preacher-mode at the NAACP Awards roasting Nicki for "going MAGA" and talking about what's "in her ass affecting her brain"... then posted up at Ye's concert like it was all love?
And all the rest of y'all who piled on Nicki, body-shamed her, called her a sellout, a coon, or worse — just for her political opinion — while giving Kanye (who's been way more vocal on Trump) a full pass and sold-out energy.
Pick a lane or shut up.
Trump support is only a problem when it's a strong Black woman like Nicki doing it? But when it's Ye, it's "art," "genius," or "we separate the artist from the politics"?
This selective outrage and double standard in our community is insane. It's never really been about the politics — it's about who y'all choose to hate on. The Barbz see you. The internet sees you.
Consistency matters. Principles over clout. Stop the cap.
