@MaacTheft On #3— I’m going to source match data for a game and measure: forward progress with the ball (rush yds) forward passes (pass yds) shots on goal (FG) goals (TDs) and calculate yardage and scoring just like they do.
With all the yappin, I’d love to hear the casual’s take on it.
@Dannycruthers@demansou@JacobMorley I love it, keep it coming.
You live in a world full of propaganda.
They made you believe these NFL players are superheroes, that they could just “transfer” and play at a World Cup level.
They would get embarrassed, man. I have seen it with my own eyes. It’s not even fair.
@Dannycruthers@demansou@JacobMorley Except I’ve played against a 40yo world-class ex-NFL who struggled against amateur Sunday league players.
He had 3in and 15lbs on me, yet I was still beating him to the ball; at 35, with a bad back and knees.
The retired soccer pros there were way more challenging to beat.
@demansou@JacobMorley On 1) If Andre Johnson picked up football early, would he be a world class elite footballer? We don’t know, but what I know for sure is we are overlooking hundreds of potential elite kids, every day, because of the poor US player development system and no MLS payout.
@demansou@JacobMorley You’re both making a great point and proving my case at the same time.
Two diff arguments: 1) Player Development 2) Elite NFL/NBA vs elite World Cup players.
On 2) Do I think Andre Johnson is unstoppable on a long cross against amateur footballers? Yes.
Against pros? No.
@demansou@JacobMorley But that’s what I’m saying, if you remove the specialization layer, it’s not like world class WRs are guaranteed to succeed in football or other sports.
They’ll be elite athletes, but not necessarily elite talent.
@Joe34275429@demansou@JacobMorley Of course I’m not a real person, I’m a figment of your imagination.
Like I said he had been a few years retired, guess what, I’ve played with many retired players (Donovan, etc). Ochocinco wasn’t some athletic freak, but he was in great shape, didn’t matter, got steamrolled.
