The police department confirms that several shots were fired by a suspect in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue in Takoma Park at approximately 11:00 A.M. There are no reports of injury. The suspect was described to be wearing dark clothing and fled the scene in a dark colored sedan. This is an active investigation.

Fisher said Takoma Park was “an identifiable community” and “there was a feeling of identity & closeness among the people in Takoma Park.”
