My wife Tahani pulled our frightened rescued cat closer to her chest, hid her tears behind a fragile smile, and softly replied: “As long as we still love… Eid is still here.”

In that shattered room, surrounded by fear, exhaustion, and innocent souls trembling from the sounds of war, we tried to create one small moment of warmth. A smile for our children. A safe corner for our rescued cats. A tiny light against endless darkness.
