Why we built BaseConnect on Base and not anywhere else: 🧵
🔵. Speed matters in a work marketplace.
When a creator approves your work, you need payment now —
not after the network confirms in 10 minutes.
Base settles in seconds.
⚪. Cost matters even more.
A $50 task with $20 in gas fees isn't a marketplace.
It's a joke.
On Base, gas is less than a cent.
🔵. USDC on Base is the cleanest payment rail we've seen.
No volatility. No conversion. No delays.
Stable currency, instant settlement.
⚪. Base's mission and ours are the same.
Base wants everyone onchain.
We want every builder to access global opportunities onchain.
Same direction. Different layer.
🔵. The ecosystem is real.
Protocols, DAOs, teams — all building on Base.
All needing talent. All sitting in our backyard.
We didn't build on Base because it was trendy.
We built here because the infrastructure was right.
Note : Because we built on base doesn't mean we are not open to opportunities from other chains . Base Connect is job market place for all, not only people on base .

We shipped v1. Here's what autonomous payroll actually looks like in production.
Contractor merges a PR → agent catches the webhook → verifies the work → signs the voucher → funds start flowing.
Nobody touched anything.

In this demo, we hit the @cronstream public endpoint directly from the terminal , verified a milestone, got a signed voucher back, and watched the contractor's stream extend on-chain in seconds. No frontend, no clicks, just a raw API call triggering a real on-chain
payment. This is what building on top of CronStream looks like for developers.
live on @arbitrum and @RobinhoodApp testnet , open to public soon.
If you can’t explain why you’re investing in a business simply, you probably shouldn’t invest in it yet.

Tosin (co-founder/CEO of Moniepoint) and I were same set in Ife (entered 2001). Razaq co-founder of Cowrywise a year our junior (2002).
I finished in 2006 because I studied a 4-year course. Tosin and Razaq finished in 2007 because Tosin studied a 5 year course, Razaq 4.
I didn't know Tosin in Ife. Razaq and I were close.
Now, Tosin's company, Momiepoint, has just committed N1 billion to building an innovation hub in OAU.
I can't wait for my own company, Jarus Homes, to also become big enough to be able to commit N1 billion into our alma mater alone.
Well done, Tosin @Eniolorunda
PS: I think OAU 2000 - 2010 guys really cooked. Apart from Moniepoint and Cowrywise, Jobberman, Seamless HR are other top tech companies founded by OAU guys of that era. Any other popular one?
