@DrTattvadarzin@primehog@LNallalingham You were caught up in the much broader citizenship dispute surrounding the Indian-origin plantation Tamils who were brought in as indentured servants and the way the new citizenship laws were structured after independence to stop them getting citizenship
@therealarijit@ClassSachi22171@Raghu9302381481@RishiJoeSanu Look up the Kandyan Convention before comparing Ceylon to British India. Ceylon had a distinct constitutional settlement under British rule, with its own laws, customs and institutions protected. Ceylonese were not treated as second class citizens like Indians
@TheNextWave03@RishiJoeSanu Not a deflection, the war was against the LTTE which murdered everyone, particularly innocent Tamils who the LTTE robbed, kidnapped and killed, including Sl Tamil politicians including the Tamil sl foreign minister and held as human shields while their families lived in Colombo
@RishiJoeSanu Why don’t you focus on the actual genocide you are currently committing in Kashmir and the massacres against the Sikhs and other minority populations and your disgusting caste system you people use? Oh wait, you’re Indian, so you are delusional about your country.
@Raghu9302381481@RishiJoeSanu The last thing SL or the ltte wanted was Indians on the island, they had a common enemy so they annihilated it and blew up your prime minister. History wise SL has 2500 year old history, India has a 70 year old history of poverty and pollution and getting wrecked by uk and pak
@MahmudZUllah I mean, hilarious talking about the economics of a high-middle income country when your people come from two of the least developed countries in the world and taking about a country that won a civil war 20 years ago while currently losing one.
@NamalAbhaya Aragalaya was people with no fuel, no gas, no medicine. Angry at economic mismanagement, nothing more coherent than that. The queues ended and everyone went home. Everything read into it since has been written in afterwards by whoever needed it to say what they already believed.
@NamalAbhaya I think Rajapaksa's point stands despite the delivery. Until the primary tier is actually there, the only door a village family has is the government hospital, and asking about that isn't ridicule. But we want the same thing here, a decent healthcare system that actually works
@NamalAbhaya Every rupee spent building a parallel primary tier is a rupee not spent on the hospital that's already there and already out of medicine. The NHS isn't the standard to copy either, it has the same problems. Nothing wrong with trying something new. This one's just bad.
@NamalAbhaya You've just written that the reform needs resources and manpower behind it. That's what I've been saying. The hospital has what little there is. Move people away from it before the primary tier exists and they end up somewhere with less, not somewhere better.
@NamalAbhaya The NHS says don't come to A&E for a cold and then points you somewhere. It doesn't take the door away. Monaragala has the door and nothing behind it.
