[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

Bundled up with a thermos of hot coffee, she's on gate duty for the morning hours.

Spring can't come fast enough.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

Winter can kick rocks.

The end.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

"I'll be fine. Y'all two need time together."

They really do, as Hope is very much a Daddy's girl. But it was best that Lyn had her for her part of their trip.

Both missed him dearly; but Hope missed him more.

At least once in the house she was able to get the bag off.

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

"Y'need my help?" He asked his gaze had returned to hope, as she played and gummed on his finger.

He grinned softly holding her close.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

Coming closer she'd peck the side of Hope's head, then her husband's cheek.

"I'm gonna unload the backpack, then get what's in the saddle bags. I got a decent little haul."

Her back wants to snap in half from the weight. Thankfully they aren't too far from their house."

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

He smirked, pride stuck to h
The corners of his eyes

His gaze shifting from hope to her

"She did- she said dada" he was trying very hard to keep a straight face.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

Luckily she's old enough and big and strong enough to support her own neck.

He might not show emotion but the blonde is certainly tearing up a little.

"She sure did." Yeah, the woman is grinning as Hope clings to her father and grabs at his vest while babbling.

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

Daryl held his breath.

" 'd she just--" his jaw set. Don't.. show emotions...

Slowly, carefully he took Hope from the sling, supporting her neck and bum as he shifted her into his arms

"D'ya just say dada?" He asked her softly.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

- just said her first word. And on repeat.

"I think she wants her daddy."

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

"Of course she is. But we're kinda bias." And she is one proud mama.

"Just some walkers. Had a small group blockin' the road a bit."

Then they'd both hear some babbling then a clear "Dada" come from Hope.

Who cares that Lyn's back hurts from a heavy backpack. Their daughter

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

He smirked lightly

"Nah, she's perfect" he mused, Hope could still amaze him. Even when doing nothing at all.

"Didn't run into any trouble did ya?"

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

It was sort of strange that she had the bike this time and he had the truck. But with Daryl hunting, he needed the bed of the truck.

A faint chuckle passes her lips. "Yeah, but she's definitely got ya in her too. Grumpy 'n grumbly with a side of giggles."

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

He shrugged lightly

"Okay" he said "nothin' much" he added before stepping forward to slowly bring a hand up, to run his finger over Hope's little cheek.

"She looks jus' like ya"

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

"She's been her happy, sassy little self as usual."

Of course little miss is in her sling and against Lyn's chest. "How was yer trip back, darlin'?"

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

He nodded slowly

"Things lookin' calmer.. hows Hope doin?"

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

Thankfully she knows a few shortcuts.

"Hey yourself."

Surprise! She noticed that little smile. Yet hers is far more visible, naturally.

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

She's back earlier then he'd expected.

Cue him moving over

"Hey" he said gruffly.
A smile, tugging on his features, only visible if you knew him.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

- "Bless you! You're officially my second favorite guy of the bunch," the blonde teased before taking an equally careful sip.

Heaven in a cup.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

She'd playfully stick her tongue out in response to the sand.

Lyn patiently waited, while doing so she checked on the community garden and was deciding what was ready to be harvested for storing.

When Rick returns with the coffee she carefully accepts the steaming hot cup. --

“ Don’tcha worry. At most there might be some sand inside. That I can’t help. ”

He chuckled.

He left for about 15 minutes, but came back with a dented disposable cup of steamin’ hot coffee.

“ Careful, shit’s real darn hot. ”

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

- or floatin' grounds." Lyn quips in a joking manner.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

She's just waiting for that first bite of a finger. Hope isn't only cranky but drooling and trying to gnaw everything in sight.

"She tried to chew.. gum.. Dog's collar yesterday," she says with a soft chuckle of her own.

"I'll take whatever ya got, as long as it ain't sludge

[— 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙱𝚛𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝙼𝚊𝚗 @THEBRAVEM4N]

Rick chuckled, remembering how when Carl was teething he and Lori had the same issue.

“ Seems ‘bout right. ” Brief pause. “ I’ll see if we still have any of that instant coffee. Ain’t the best, but it’s something. ”

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

@YoungestDix0n Oh please! Dog will likely end up as protective over them as he is his other baby. As in Hope.

Lyn gets Tom wet down with warm water and starts to clean him with the mild dish soap. Fleas are bailing like it's the Titanic (and dying in the process).

"Then I'll boot Dog out."

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

"Coffins are more roomy than a crib." Just saying.

It's cute that she can still make the man blush. He still gets her to from time to time as well.

"That's what I thought," she teased and hands Jerry to him so that she can bathe Tom first.

[𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚢𝚕. @YoungestDix0n]

"I can squeeze in.. slept in worse.. slept in a coffin once" he grumbled.

Then her comment flushed his cheeks. No matter they're married. She still managed to make him blush.

"I--" he swallowed his comment and just nodded "yes ma'am"

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

"Hope may be older 'n sleeping through the night but last night was rough," she says while looking just about half dead.

"I'm thinkin' she's teethin' for the first time. I was up every couple of hours."

They both definitely need a pick-me-up.

"D slept through it, the shit."

[— 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙱𝚛𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝙼𝚊𝚗 @THEBRAVEM4N]

He couldn’t help but chuckle, lookin’ worse for wear himself.

“ Everythin’ alright there? You look ‘bout as shit as I feel. ” He was obviously joking ;
though he sure as hell felt like he’d been hit by a truck.

[{Lyn}ora Dixon @DDixonsPeach]

She rose but isn't shining yet.

Hope woke up before the rooster and she (as in Mama) needs her coffee still.

[— 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙱𝚛𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝙼𝚊𝚗 @THEBRAVEM4N]

“ Rise ‘n shine . . . ”

He’s spent all night keepin’ watch.
Hopefully he could get a nap in later.
