@davidkurten A friend of my parents (Eric) was a conscientious objector in WW2. He was put in prison. After the war he came out, married Marion and became a bank manager and very respected member of the community. Something he could not have done had he been blown to bits. Choose wisely.

@mongrelcelt I worked out during Covid that we still had the Blitz spirit. It was just that I misunderstood that spirit. Far from stoic bravery in the face of danger it was just a British willingness to follow orders no matter how stupid as long as it came from our superiors.
