DEC charities are on the ground in Gaza delivering aid to people in urgent need, despite the challenges.

More than 2 million people, all of Gaza’s population, are facing extreme food insecurity. Deaths from malnutrition and starvation have continued to rise.

Safe access for urgently needed humanitarian aid is beginning to increase, and DEC charities and their local partners are adapting their programmes to deliver more food, water and medical care. The challenges are immense, but donations to the Middle East Humanitarian Appeal are supporting their vital work.

The devastation caused by the Myanmar earthquake is hard to comprehend. In seconds, millions of lives were changed forever.

Thousands of people have died. Families are living on the streets having lost their homes and in fear of aftershocks. Clean water is scarce and hospitals are overwhelmed.

DEC charities and their local partners are working around the clock to provide lifesaving aid, including food, water, shelter and medical care. But the needs are vast and the monsoon rains - due any day - could make this catastrophic situation even worse.

Today marks three years since the escalation of conflict in Ukraine.

The DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal is one the largest and longest running appeals in our history, thanks to the incredible £445 million raised. Your genersority has helped aid reach over 8 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, and the work continues.

The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal has closed for donations but DEC-funded programmes will continue to support affected communities until the end of August 2025. Many DEC member charities and their local partners will also continue their work longer term and warmly welcome donations to their appeals.
