My motion for online voting being added to the alternate voting methods for the 2026 election passed! Thanks so much for the robust conversation fellow council members & delegates. I appreciate all of your viewpoints. This is an accessibility win. Special thanks to @Squarest_Root
@Squarest_Root@CripSpaceGuelph I've been really, REALLY needing a space like that, so I'm doing what disabled people always have to do—building the services we need that should have been there all along.
@Squarest_Root DEEP will soon be announcing our newest project—@cripspaceguelph—which might be exactly what you need. It's a space for more radical disabled people to spend time together, celebrate our wins, scream about our rage, cry about our grief, and just be in community with one another.

Seeking a pair of elbow crutches!
A community member has reached out looking for a standard-sized pair of elbow crutches (aka forearm crutches, arm crutches, or lofstrand crutches). Please reach out if you have a pair to donate!

The Guelph Access Library is urgently seeking a donation of a manual wheelchair with a higher weight capacity! We only have one manual chair at the moment, and it has an unreasonably low weight capacity, making it inaccessible for many potential users. #Guelph@DEEPguelph
Because of the Guelph Access Library, someone got a chance to see a loved one in hospice one last time. If we can find a space and fully launch, we can make more moments like this happen. Please help us find a location! #Guelph@DEEPguelph
4th review of the AODA by Rich Donovan: “The current experience for many people with disabilities in Ontario is poor. This stems from design flaws in services, products, technology, buildings, infrastructure, careers, processes, and human imagination.” https://t.co/4KOT8ErnQb
The snow removal accessibility issue needs to be prioritized. It’s ridiculous to expect people with mobility issues to stay indoors due to inadequate sidewalk clearing. Down to the pavement, the full width of the sidewalk, every snowfall. Anything less just isn’t good enough.
Thanks so much to @AeDeutschmann at @GuelphToday for this story about us! The increased visibility has already gotten us some exciting offers and many words of encouragement. Thank you for all the support, #Guelph! https://t.co/7DrPiFRwuT
