🇪🇺🇩🇪 The European Parliament is moving to formally deregister the AfD's EU coalition, the Europe of Sovereign Nations party, which would strip it of official status and cut off its EU funding entirely.

180 legislators signed the petition triggering the process, the EPP, Socialists and Renew Europe are all backing it, and a 294-page dossier has been compiled covering court rulings, official statements and social media activity from member parties documenting "antisemitic, anti-LGBT and anti-migrant rhetoric" alongside calls for repatriation of citizens with foreign roots.

The AfD says it's being punished for talking about real issues and calls it a free speech matter.

This is happening while the AfD is climbing in German polls, Merz is at 15% approval, and every mainstream European party is hemorrhaging voters to the right.

The institutional response to that trend is apparently to try to defund and deregister the parties absorbing those voters rather than compete with the arguments driving the shift.

Whether that works or accelerates the problem is the only question left.

Wetenschappelijke genadeklap voor D66: Prominente experts schieten stikstofbrief minister Van Essen lek

Het is de definitieve, intellectuele genadeklap voor het stikstofdictaat van het minderheidskabinet-Jetten, die zwart-op-wit bewijst dat het beleid in Den Haag louter gebaseerd is op ideologische dogma's in plaats van op harde feiten. Terwijl minister van Landbouw Jaimi van Essen (D66) zijn destructieve plannen door de Tweede Kamer probeert te loodsen, hebben prominente wetenschappers van de Wageningen Universiteit (WUR) de stikstofbrief van het kabinet op cruciale punten volledig gefileerd. In een vertrouwelijke brandbrief, die in handen is van De Telegraaf, waarschuwen topbeoordelaars - onder wie de bekende stikstofexpert Wim de Vries, hoogleraar Henk Kievit, jurist Harm Borgers, stikstofonderzoeker Wouter de Heij en WUR-stikstofexpert Gerard Ros - dat de kabinetsplannen frontaal indruisen tegen het principe om de boer juist zelf aan het roer te zetten via doelsturing. Het Haagse kaartenhuis stort met een oorverdovende klap in elkaar!

De 'strenge koeiennorm' blijkt onwetenschappelijk broddelwerk

Een van de meest ingrijpende maatregelen waar het platteland momenteel tegen te hoop loopt, is de zogeheten 'strenge koeiennorm'. Het kabinet wil agrariërs dwingen tot een maximum van 2,6 koeien per hectare binnen een straal van 25 kilometer. De WUR-wetenschappers maken in hun brandbrief echter korte metten met deze dwingelarij. Zij oordelen hard dat deze norm wetenschappelijk "matig onderbouwd en methodologisch slecht gedefinieerd" is.

Bovendien leggen de experts de vinger op een andere pijnlijke plek: de economische consequenties van deze drastische maatregel zijn door het ministerie onvoldoende in beeld gebracht. De starre norm laat totaal geen ruimte over voor alternatieve, innovatieve benaderingen waarbij ook bij een hogere dierdichtheid de gewenste milieu- en natuurkwaliteit kan worden gerealiseerd. Het is de ultieme bevestiging dat het kabinet niet stuurt op daadwerkelijke ecologische resultaten, maar puur op het blind saneren van de agrarische sector.

14-year-old girl Tamar from the Dutch city of Marken was hit and killed by an Iraqi driver while she was walking on a road in July 2020.

Here is her mother telling Dutch media that the police lied to her and told her the suspect was a "German" because they did not want the case to support right-wing politician @geertwilderspvv.

The prosecution even dropped the case. For political reasons? The family will never know, but the Iraqi, Jamal T., is finally being brought to court and tried after her parents fought for years for his prosecution.

In fact, it was discovered that all four men in the car had an Iraqi background.

When she learned this information, she told Dutch media that the police responded that they had withheld the real background “because we didn’t want to create a Wilders-effect.” She described this as a “second blow” after losing her child, emphasizing that they should have been honest rather than offering “political excuses.”

The driver did not just flee the scene in Zeedijk, but evidence suggests that her body was moved at the scene of the accident. He claimed, however, that he never noticed hitting the girl, saying he thought he hit “something” but did not know it was a human. Nevertheless, Tamar was hit so hard by the impact that the coroner said she died instantly.

Despite driving away from the scene of the girl’s death, he was given only a €1,500 fine for looking at his phone while driving. However, he was not even delivered the fine, as he disappeared and the fine was “undeliverable” for years.

The family finally took matters into their own hands. They filed an Article 12 procedure, a legal mechanism allowing citizens to challenge a prosecutor’s refusal to take a case to trial. Now, finally, after six years, the 33-year-old Iraqi is being prosecuted for the fatal accident and fleeing the scene.

Police and prosecutors lied to the entire family for “political reasons” to hide the identity of the killer, according to the mother. Then, the family had to take matters into their own hands to force the case to trial.
