Not much to say about me. I do a bit of everything, CAD for fun, Gaming of all sorts on PC, and watching far more documentaries then my brain has storage space.
@TiffanyFong It CAN be true.
The biggest thing with us is whether you're a source of stress or not. Cold approach, we're going to potentially make the judgement that the lass on the left is a bit more casual and we might be able to relax a bit.
Sure there's a version of this for y'all
@StereoIncognito@BMohammedl@EvaFox We respect the right to religion, ANY religion (the decent of us anyway) because that shit is drilled into us from day 1.
We respect our rights to speak our minds (like this discussion) for similar reasons, right along with the vote, or the right of a woman to protect herself.
@StereoIncognito@BMohammedl@EvaFox 39, old enough to have seen people abuse a society they have no respect for in the workplace (cheesing SNAP), and old enough to be a history nerd knowing that unless those immigrants are as committed to the institutions as the natives, *whatever* society it is, is in trouble
@Rich_Cooper Her whole post is making the comparison between banning abortion and forced vasectomies.
The idea that forcing a women to have a kid she doesn't want is removing a man's ability to have kids when he DOES want them. Both take away choice.
It's not a great analogy but I Get it
@Wisdom_HQ Lot of extremely attractive and accomplished people of both sexes just don't see the value in marriage or relationships anymore.
And some simply can't find a partner to save their lives.
You can tell which you're looking at by how much they complain about the opposite sex.
@AntiWokeMemes Arrogance doesn't do men or women any good in the dating market.
It's more accurate to say most men don't care that much either way. I know a fair few very accomplished women that aren't assholes about it, so ..
It's like women liking fit men, but hating gym rats.
@haider1 The consequences of not using AI, like having code that *won't* get eviscerated in the first security audit it has?
AI can do a lot of things, but if you ask for code that's basically a grab bag of random stack overflow responses, that's what you'll get.
@GuntherEagleman Because the government has the unilateral power to arrest you, the Constitution explicitly limits that power in some cases.
We shot our own neighbors in a revolution to get away from a government that did whatever the hell it wanted.
George III is smiling in his grave.
@GuntherEagleman Several Amendments *explicitly exist for criminals*, 4th and 5th in particular. And no amendments other than those dealing with voting mention citizens.
The reason for that? If the Government just decided to ignore my RealID (got that gold star yo) I'm still due a trial.
@jebby42069@FrannyPurcell@GuntherEagleman Most of them don't realize that for the first 500 years of Christianity being a state religion, the translated Bible they're holding would be grounds for a hot date at the stake.
Most churches get Really quiet about that period of time.
@FrannyPurcell@GuntherEagleman Funny that the atheist of the group had a big hand in writing it.
There's a reason the first amendment is written the way it is. Christians have killed more Christians in the name of Christ than every other religion combined. That's true of all religions.
@jook132@Mavericks100xs@elonmusk With some people, they cling to their politics like a Christian clings to his Bible and not a chart or testable evidence in the world will change their mind.
Frankly it's sad, because empathy is a GOOD thing, but certain groups of people have figured out they can abuse it.
@Mavericks100xs@elonmusk There is literally a GIGANTIC fraud case going on in Minnesota over this sort of behavior right now. Childcare centers getting millions in taxpayers' money with no kids.
I'm not saying it's just them, it ain't. But *some* people have discovered that empathy can be abused.
@theamelia__ He's gay.
That's what that's called. Can also be called a slut in this case though. Most of the gay people I know don't have that many partners in their whole lives.
@MatrixMysteries So, like, recover completely from a house fire and go back up to 700s credit score and be an outright property owner (which means our local county would actually pretend to car) for the price she spent on a vehicle.
@MatrixMysteries ... Okay I too am screwed by life but $51,000 on a fucking CAR!?
I could pay off all of my debt, pay off this property, put a mobile home here to replace the house, probably remove the house debris, and be rolling on a new scooter for $51,000.
Sweet Jesus
@StereoIncognito@BMohammedl@EvaFox He's referring to first world countries.
You can import humans, but with that you import *their* values and not your own.
Most people have a decent work ethic so that value is fine. It's things like religious freedom or freedom of dissent that things get ugly...
@BMohammedl@ohcheepeng@EvaFox@elonmusk@Tesla_Optimus And evolutionarily speaking? That's baked into our DNA.
For a significant portion of the population, the sex drive is the first thing to go when people start to worry about shit.
The population will nosedive untill we go extinct or people's Labor is valuable again.
@BMohammedl@ohcheepeng@EvaFox@elonmusk@Tesla_Optimus It's not a perfection thing. It's a stress thing.
If I have to wonder how the hell to replace the house that burned year before last, how mind numbingly retarted would I have to be to add crotch fruit to the mix.
