@BillyReinhardt What if it's a consolidation sign-and-trade with Denver? For example...Clowney, Powell/Saraf, and multiple second round picks for Watson. Nets get Watson on something closer to $15M/year if we're his preferred destination (give him an opt out possibly?).
@BrooklynNetcast Do a sign-and-trade with Denver. Nuggets get Clowney, Saraf, Powell, and a few future second round picks; Nets get Watson on something like 4 years/$90M that starts below $20M in year 1. Consolidation trade for Brooklyn and fits the timeline.
@NetsDaily Folded in so Minny could aggregate Randle/Naz/picks to bring in LaMelo/Green while staying below second apron. That's how Charlotte is picking up this massive $40M trade exception.
@SamQuinnCBS The 2027 draft class is also reportedly a lot closer to 2024 than it is 2025/2026 at the top, so that also needs to be factored in for the "tankers".
@NetsDaily If Cavs were serious about putting their 2031 FRP unprotected and/or their remaining swaps in 2030/2032, the Nets could help get Cleveland almost out of the second apron. Strus + 2031 FRP for two of the Nets non-guaranteed contracts for the bench.
@KeithSmithNBA Who says no?
POR get Jrue, ATL get KP, BKN get Simons/Powell (rights), BOS get Mann/Niang and 3 second round picks.
POR/ATL both don't change anything from original deals, BOS gets out of the 2nd Apron, BKN pivot to expirings with their cap space.
@KeithSmithNBA@TC_Hughes Would this include keeping Cole Anthony? Can the Grizzlies swap out KCP for Terrance Mann and give Brooklyn some draft picks to take on the higher salary?
@NetsDaily Makes no sense for the Lakers, sign-and-trade hardcaps them at the first apron and there's no way to get underneath that with current roster.
@BillyReinhardt Idea to consider: Nets have so many future second round picks and Lakers have none going forward. Could Nets consolidate multiple seconds along with Claxton to get expiring contracts from the Lakers along with the 2031 FRP?
@BillyReinhardt The galaxy brain idea: taking on Beal's contract (buying him out immediately, of course) along with Maluach's rights from Phoenix in return for Claxton. Nets with 6 first rounders on cheap contracts can deal with the dead cap hit for next 2 seasons.
@KeithSmithNBA Keith, being that the Suns need to complete the KD trade in order to have the picks to move up to 31 and 41, will we see the KD trade expand to a 5 or 6 team? And if Nets agreed to include Claxton for Beal/Maluach this would get Phoenix out of the aprons?
@BrooklynNetcast@NetsDaily Massive overpay for the market. He won't even get a full MLE from teams because he's a RFA. I'd go 3 years max, likely 3 years/$60M with a player option for the 3rd year. And if he doesn't like it, who is hardcapping their team for a sign-and-trade? Answer: no one.
@JWeinbachNBA Take out Knecht/unprotect the Lakers 2031 pick, and this is a trade that legally can be done at the draft based on the contracts. Lakers solve their center need and grab a pick in this year's draft. Brooklyn resets their cap again while getting another future first.
