It’s been an honor to chair the @emresidents Leadership Academy!
Today at #CORDAA23, we graduated the class of 2023, welcomed the class of 2024, and even had some fun in an escape room!
Shoutout to our the rest of our leadership team: @DGelmann_EM@aluc333 @DrDmart120
Find them on https://t.co/ECJlpmVRIr. They are not perfect nor totally comprehensive, but as an incoming intern I still find myself looking them over to help refresh my approach to CCs. You can even use them on shift while you’re still learning the ropes! Please share. (2/2)
#EMBound#Match2023 students starting aways/home sub-Is! Check out my @emresidents Leadership Academy capstone project from last year. “Quicksheets” walking you through the approach to common CCs in the ED from history, PE, w/u, tx, and dispo. Ace those presentations! (1/2)
Today is my 27th birthday. I asked the 4-year-old I babysit how old I look and she said 7. I consider this a compliment in aging well and I’m not questioning it.
Taking what I learned last year with @emresidents’ Leadership Academy and using it to lead this year’s class along with @parme_Jeanne and @aluc333 is a full-circle moment! Excited to see what this amazing group does in the year to come 😊
@I_IbrahimMD I’m in the exact same boat, I feel your pain!! Luckily moving within 2 mi of my residency hospital so trying to hold out til then and bike most days… good luck!

Infertility among female physicians is a lot higher than those in the general population.

@KelseyMedicine@MargaretEllenJ2 You’re welcome! Also document any big checks coming in too (take pics and document the reason — making it clear it’s a gift or for work, not a “loan”). I wish I had done this because they asked for it now but I don’t know where all the checks are sigh…
Buying a house + residency onboarding + finishing a manuscript + working all at the same time has me really questioning the mantra “4th year is easy”… ❤️ is going out to those whose programs don’t let them finish rotations early because I couldn’t do it!
@KelseyMedicine@MargaretEllenJ2 You may already know this but I hadn’t been told by the lenders until after we got our offer accepted and they started the final mortgage approval process. Eg no new credit card applications, big purchases, etc
@KelseyMedicine@MargaretEllenJ2 As an FYI bc I just found this out (just got our housing offer accepted) — DON’T try to do anything else that pulls your credit rn (besides shop around for loan rates within that 14-day period when it counts as one check) — lender won’t want to see more checks for final approval
@KelseyMedicine@MargaretEllenJ2 I’m with you, in my opinion it shouldn’t drop until you actually take out the loan vs just when you check it, but I guess taking that first step is enough for them to consider you “riskier” 🤷🏻♀️ mine only dropped <10 points personally though and was insignificant
@MargaretEllenJ2@KelseyMedicine This is correct. Checking your own score via these platforms is a “soft check” which does not impact your score at all. Hard checks (when you apply for a loan, open a new credit card, etc.) do affect your score temporarily.
My grandmother passed away last night surrounded by family in the comfort of her own home. I wish end-of-life care was as comfortable and dignified for more patients.
It’s always hard to leave behind so many amazing mentors and friends, but I’m excited about this new adventure! Wake Forest EM here I come!!! #Match2022
