Practice Design - OUTFIELD FLYBALLS
Using Trackman Data, we can determine the spin on the ball hit to each outfield position.
A lot more detail to dive into here - it's just a starting point to figuring out how we can use it to impact the training reps at practice.
West Virginia Coach Steve Sabins goes into great detail about the Biomechanics Lab that @WVUBaseball has on campus.
“For Courtney Semkewyc it was kind of a no brainer… She’s a unicorn - PHD in Biomechanics, that’s a baseball rat, that wants to be in a dugout, and be at practice all day, and grind. You can’t just go create that person or system.”
We don't have to keep creating generations of women that are just "grateful!" We are professionals, Nija is a millionaire, there will never be another contract that her lawyers wont get eyes on!
Negotiating is healthy & mandatory and not a measurement of gratitude!
You dont see professional men hating on other mens negotiating process!
Women in this sport we got to get a code of conduct in the clubhouse! Coming on social media to address her is nasty work! We all we got! Lets be better!
Hear me out - if we said “decrease hitter reaction time” instead of “increase pitcher velocity” or “decrease fielder reaction time” instead of “increase exit velocity”, would it be more accepted? We can all agree decreasing reaction/decision time leads to more favorable outcomes.
@MatthewMKE98 You’re going to see some unloading of names you know in the near future because of 40-man limitations. It’ll be tough but it is the curse of the best farm system in baseball.
A preview of some exciting new research I will be presenting at #ICPA26 in a couple of weeks. Early detection of susceptibility to injury in baseball pitchers through analysis of coordination changes. https://t.co/5tqS5JeOIs

Summer is here. Catchers spending their summer at DTD while on break from college.
The amount of feedback I’ve gotten in regards to development and coaching at that level continues to be subpar even at P4.
Why aren’t we committing to it like we do to hitting and pitching…
@JakeMcKibbinBB Repeatability in kinematics has to come first. Even the slightest variation in arm angle/release point has massive implications at the plate.
Pitchers get nitpicked on how we step, how we stride, how we push, how quick we can move… and barely any tech to help us develop.
Hitters have ENDLESS tech in the cages... iPitch & ProBatter to name a few.
All we have is the strikezone & it IS NOT subjective.
Give us ABS!
Beyond the discussion if knee down stances hinders blocking ability (which I firmly believe it DOES NOT)...
I wonder how many MORE runs would score if catchers used a trad stance, leading to more LOST strikes, resulting in hitters being in more plus counts to do damage...
You don’t direct a player to harm another player. But your language may leave the door open (“throw in, but if you hit her it is what it is”). Considering the relationship, easy to see a pitcher taking it to the extreme by throwing caution to the wind (to put it lightly).
I don’t think Florida is intentionally hitting Mia.
I think their plan is wayyyy in…. and Rothrock has been told “if you miss, miss on her & not on the plate.”
What do YOU think?
