"he did rule ... blanket ban violates the state’s Eighth Amendment against cruel and unusual punishment"

"the city listed the wrong address for the property storage site, and one website lacked a phone number for people to call"

like they were going out of their way to make it as hard as possible on our poor.

They claimed that denser housing would help.
Well... 70% of that proposed "density" was dropped via amendment. A bill that had plenty of potential has much less potential now. Got to wonder what other parts of this legislation will be shaved off.

Trump says he will outlaw homelessness and arrest everyone who refuses to comply. He will then give them the option to get out of jail to be relocated to new tent cities elsewhere where he will take care of their needs.
@VicLombardi They are something for our city to spend money on instead of housing for our poor. They are more confusing than helpful in most cases and make it more difficult for tents to go up
A very good review of the Land Use bill
“Research has shown that increasing housing supply, like building units like duplexes and townhomes, "can" increase affordability. "
"can" or "will" it has potential but affordability controls are week

“[Sweeps,] we predict, will contribute up to 25% of the deaths among this population over a 10-year period,” Barocas told us. “To put that a different way, it means our states and our cities are literally killing people with this.”

@COChicanoJoe @cprwarner@ColoradoMatters If they were going to represent us at all you would think they would at least be having conversations with us... to date they are not. A single debate against other candidates is not a running conversation. It more like drive by campaigning.
Aware of the crack down on folks for sleeping outside? 1st Contact = ID and fingerprint for "tracking" purposes. 2nd = written warning + fingerprint. 3rd = citation/Arrest. Plus a stack of warrants carried to every encounter. Its a crime to be poor in Denver. Why? see below

@SarahdawnH@AndyKnny They will not build things we can afford w/o price controls. They have never done it in the past, why would they suddenly do so now? Developers and the politicians they purchase are not here for us... [profit] That is why price controls are needed., w/o them we all get shafted
@SarahdawnH@AndyKnny Less expensive housing will not occur naturally "due to market forces" as the developers claim. Especially if all you build is market rate and above. They just want to build as much as they can. IF they are going to build we need to have them build things we can afford.
@SarahdawnH@AndyKnny Building more housing for rich folks will not house our homeless... without price controls or income restrictions price point for all housing will increase
@SarahdawnH@AndyKnny @ 1:55 - Nationwide changes like this have led to 0.8% increase in housing supply. (not very much frankly) and predominantly for units at the higher end of housing costs. What about this legislation will lead do different results? We will wait...
