@BrianRSolomon I try not to generalize, but in my experience many younger millennials and Gen Zers seem defiantly ignorant of culture before the digital divide. I don’t know why that is. Maybe we’ve overhyped it relative to their art?
@MattZeitlin Born in 82. His eccentric persona had largely replaced the music. And if you didn’t have someone in your life who put you on his deeper catalog, you only knew the bubble gum hits; PYT was not on the radio in the 90s. So basically he was a weird 80s relic in our young minds.
@Liathetrader@AJManaseer I’m in CA, prospering, and have no plans to leave?
Nobody ruined CA. It’s a mess because the past generations who built it out didn’t plan on this many people living here. You take the bad with the ample good and live a happy life among interesting people in amazing weather.
Sometimes I talk too much--as @kinky_horror constantly reminds me--but this Variety article explains a lot of what I've been sharing privately as I try to answer all the wonderful messages. Thank you, William, for kind of summing it all up.

@charlescwcooke@NRO His old tweets read like every naive young liberal whose views have yet to be tempered by reality. National Review resuscitating cancel culture was not on my bingo card.
