JUST IN: Minnesota National Guard confirms Gov. Tim Walz did *not* retire as a command sergeant major like he has publicly claimed, says he was demoted.

Army Lt. Col. Kristen Augé made the statement to Just The News.

"[Walz] retired as a master sergeant in 2005 for benefit purposes because he did not complete additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy," Augé said.

Walz biography on his website claims that "Command Sergeant Major Walz" retired from the Minnesota National Guard in 2005, as noted by Just The News.
