An old Bible college pal recently challenged me to explain how life can have any meaning whatsoever if God does not exist. This is my answer. (And nope, I did not give her a link to an old YouTube video of me talking, but it’s the same answer essentially) https://t.co/D0AudSnDOc
Ossoff: Last September, the President of Kazakhstan calls Donald Trump and says he wants to grant tungsten mining rights to an American company. And the very next month, Eric and Don Jr. get a stake in the American company pursuing the mining deal.
Six days later, six days after Prince Eric and Prince Don get their stake, Kazakhstan announces this company will get, “The largest known undeveloped tungsten resource in the world.” A few more weeks go by, and then the U.S. government, run by their father, sets aside 1.6 billion of your tax dollars to fund and finance their mining project. In Kazakhstan.
All this while you pay more for gas, for groceries, for health care, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Reminder that 52% of Russian hospitals lack hot water, 35% lack sewage systems, fully 20% of Russian homes lack indoor plumbing, and the life expectancy for men there is like 20 years below France, while the domestic violence, alcoholism, and death rates are greater than any other advanced industrialized nation. Russia is a low-trust authoritarian state, which Trump is trying to emulate. For whatever reason.
May's 172,000 job gains were dominated by:
Hospitality: 70,000 (mainly restaurants)
Local gov't: 55,000
Healthcare: 35,000
But if you look at jobs gains in the past 3 months, you see a lot of industries hiring. (The exceptions are tech and finance)
“The danger doesn’t arrive when tanks appear in the streets. It arrives when leaders lose the ability to say no. It arrives when loyalty replaces judgment. It arrives when public officials preserve powers they would never tolerate in the hands of their opponents.”

Cramer: "There's are people who are not doing well in this country, and I am surprised you are not addressing those people…who have seen SNAP benefits decline, who have higher gas prices because of the war in Iran."
Hassett: "We care about everybody."
Cramer: "Oh?"
I see your profile picture. That’s Johnny Cash. My hero too. Arrested seven times. Smuggled 668 amphetamines across the Mexican border in 1965. Took every drug there was and drank like I did. Cheated on his first wife. Slept with more woman than I ever did. Hit bottom in a cave in Tennessee in 1968 trying to crawl off and die. And then he got up. He got clean. He spent the rest of his life singing for prisoners and addicts and the people the country threw away because he knew he was one of them.
That was the whole point of the Man in Black. He wore it for the poor and the beaten down. He wore it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime. He wore it for the ones who never heard a word of Jesus. He wore it for the addicted and the dying. He wore it as a standing witness that no one is past saving.
You picked his picture. You did not pick his message. Try listening to the words.
In appeals court fight over the White House ballroom, DOJ says the federal government could quickly bulldoze the statute of liberty and no one would have standing to sue over the changes once the demolition is done.
DOGE didn't make a dent in the deficit, but it did bring back screwworm and enable a historically large new Ebola outbreak, so it's not like they didn't achieve *anything*
Retail investors are actually celebrating that SpaceX is reserving 30% of its IPO for them.
Let me explain how the real world works: Wall Street doesn't hand you 30% of a generational asset out of charity.
When institutional money refuses to swallow an inflated private market valuation, they need a massive liquidity sponge to absorb the float.
You aren't getting in early. You are volunteering to be venture capital's exit liquidity.

Now we know why Peter Thiel packed his bags for Argentina.
Milei just submitted his AI legislative framework to Congress, where he proposes:
- zero regulation on AI development,
- a brand-new "non-human corporation" category for AI/robot-operated entities with limited liability
-a low-tax regime with flexible governance rules.
The Dutch East India Company gave the world the limited liability company in 1602. Milei wants Argentina to do the same for autonomous AI agents in 2026.
50-49: Republicans, by one vote, chose to keep Trump’s insurrectionist slush fund dream alive.
After they fumbled around for hours, we needed just one more Republican to muster the courage to end Trump’s taxpayer handout to cop beaters and felons.
As per usual, they were spineless.

Applebaum: Trump is using a specific language from the 1930s: “enemies within,” “enemies of the people,” migrants and political opponents as “vermin,” migrants “poisoning the blood” of Americans.
That language comes from Hitler, Stalin and the Stasi. 1/
