They have now given NATO discretion to make the next move. State TV will say “they had it coming + they’re lucky it wasn’t more.”

@ryanthehate @Angry_Staffer NATO will and should respond, but I don’t think this is Russia’s attempt to test the waters with NATO in a war that they are losing badly going into winter. Why even test NATO when you are already losing to Ukraine? Any more NATO involvement is a certain bad outcome for Russia

@amateurbaker78 @Angry_Staffer That’s fair, but Russia isn’t operating from a position of leverage anymore. NATO can use this as the trigger for Article V at any point in the future now. To not use that first attack on something more important is a massive waste. It’s like taking pawn instead of bishop
