Welcome to Super Seabird Sunday where we ask you to share photos, videos and artwork of seabirds to brighten up timelines. Here is my contribution, a majestic Arctic Tern returning to its nest #SuperSeabirdSunday
This male Eastern Bluebird was resting under a dark canopy, which can make lighting a little tricky. Then he leaned back just enough to check me out and catch a gleam of sunlight in his eye. #birds#nature#wildlife
Both happy and sad for the arrival of large numbers of blackpoll warblers last week. They are striking and look quite different from many other warbler species, but they signal the end of spring migration!

Great news! We have our Arctic Terns back this year on the Isle of May (they didn’t nest last year). These birds have spent their winter in the Antarctic and are now here nesting. You might need a hat!
I have always seen a pair of oystercatchers on this curve in the river in the Scottish Borders.
They can live for 40 years so maybe they are indeed the same pair I first remember first seeing 30 years ago!

Mourning warbler foraging in one of Central Park’s beautiful willow trees last week. It was interesting to see this normally skulky bird flitting around in trees. (The Pool, Central Park, New York)

When leg day never ends...
The black-necked stilt is all legs, all confidence, and always scanning the shallow waters for snacks like bugs and crustaceans.

Blue flowers for a #BlueMoon, though a Blue Moon doesn’t relate to colour. One definition is the second full moon in a month with two full moons, as occurs on 31 May. Its rarity gave rise to the saying “once in a blue moon”, meaning something that seldom happens. #FolkloreSunday
Flaunting the "butter-butt"! 🧈🍑 The Yellow-rumped Warbler is usually one of the first warblers to arrive in spring, and this one was kind enough to perfectly time a wing stretch to show off exactly how it got its nickname.
