Folks from @LabMboa in #Cameroon, have developed an #opensource incubator, during the BFOSH project (part of my @mozilla/@OpenSciFellows fellowship). They are now building & selling them on demand and locally! I think this is a major win because:
We are excited to support Adelaide, a #TReNDinAfrica alumini, who is organising an #outreach for high school girls students in Ghana to create #awareness on the career options in science, expose them to coding and provide them with #mentorship. Thanks to the funding of @Loreal.
We also had a visit by Prof Fleischer, the Dean of @SOP_UHAS and Prof Okine as the teams took turns to share their progress on their projects and challenges that needed assistance.
#DIYLabware
It was a joyous climax after 2 weeks of hard work and learning came to an end. Conference attendees were excited about the potential of #openlabware for African science.
Thanks to @mozilla and @HelmsleyTrust for funding, and @SOP_UHAS@UHASGhana for supporting this project.
