I’m suffocating today. Jeremy told me before he died that one of his greatest fears would be that no one would think of him. Now I feel i have no one to talk to about him since his family cut me off.
I’m just so sad today. and the painful reminder of being cut off isn’t helping
@LUFC1992_v2@Blusnowfox It goes by zip code and I adore the Hourly Forecast link at the bottom where it literally breaks the forecast down hour by hour for two or three days.
@ilymdj1915@TeenaBrode One foot after the other.
Sometimes you have to do it ... for them.
Doesn't make it feel any better, though.
Stinks. Hurts.
This is not a nice world we live in.
@ilymdj1915 This just dropped in my feed and all I have to say is ... yeah, you're right.
I can't say why, but ... I know how it stinks and there are no words to... change that.
So sorry.
(Praying for you, cause there's only One Person Who can come close to helping with this.)
Really stinks
@DT2ComicsChat The Man Who Killed Hitler and The Bigfoot.
Terrible movie--- the writer/director literally waited 12 years to make a movie just so he could get Sam Elliott & it's not because he was making a good film.
But ... you get over an hour of Sam Elliott being the greatest character actor
Most people remember Tom Landry standing on the sidelines of Dallas Cowboys games.
Few remember him sitting in the cockpit of a dying bomber over Europe.
Before he became one of football's most famous coaches, Landry served as a B-17 pilot during World War II. Flying from England, he led missions deep into enemy territory where every flight carried the possibility of never returning home.
Then came his 30th mission.
High above Europe, German anti-aircraft fire found its target.
Explosions ripped through the bomber.
One engine failed.
Then another.
Then another.
Then another.
Suddenly, all four engines were gone.
The massive B-17 was no longer flying.
It was falling.
Inside the aircraft were young airmen who knew exactly what that usually meant.
D*ath.
Panic could have spread through the crew.
Landry never allowed it.
Witnesses later recalled how calmly he fought to keep control of the powerless aircraft as it dropped toward the ground. With no engines and almost no options left, he guided the crippled bomber toward a field in France.
Then came the impact.
Steel scraped across the earth.
The aircraft slammed into the ground.
Against all odds, the crew survived.
The young pilot had brought them home.
Years later, America would know Tom Landry as the coach who built the Dallas Cowboys into a dynasty. Fans would admire his discipline, leadership, and calm under pressure.
What many never realized was where those qualities were forged.
Not on a football field.
But inside a shattered bomber falling from the sky during World War II.
Long before he coached champions, Tom Landry was already saving lives.

@greengirlbella_@LaReinaCreole If you like spicy chicken and can get here, you'd love @RockysHotChickn based in Asheville. They also have them in Greenville, SC.
I've heard of Nashville hot chicken which is apparently realllly hot.
(I ate at Rocky's once, but had plain chicken. It's cult food, though.)
@greengirlbella_ You know, a year or two ago I mentioned to a coworker the notion of a Brit driving up to Bojangles and ordering tea and biscuits.
If you haven't tried the sweet tea yet ... um ... start with a small sip.
Yesterday, during my father's funeral procession, led by the United States Marine Corps, my family noticed the man in this photograph standing at the side of the road. He held his hat in his hand and placed his hand on his heart as a sign of respect for my father and our family as we walked by.
His respectful gesture deeply touched my family and the entire train. Along the way, we encountered many other cars simply going about their day.
Since his license plate was visible in the photo, my daughter did some research and we found him!!!
His name is Ernest Boerlin and he is also a veteran of the United States Navy.
When I sent him a private message to thank him for honoring my father, he replied:
"It was an honor to show my respect for a comrade and his family." Please accept my prayers and condolences for you and your family in your loss. Fair winds and calm seas. God bless you.
Thank you, Ernest. Your gesture of kindness and respect deeply touched our family and friends, and we are grateful for it. May God bless you and your loved ones.
Let's thank Ernest for his service and show him our affection, folks!
A supernatural soap opera was new at the time.
Still Dark Shadows was floundering at many episodes in until Barnabas Collins showed up and made the show a smash.
My mom would play hookie just to stay home and watch it.
@mynatsockacct@OctoAbbi Same thing with the X-Files; in "All Souls" Mulder ridicules a priest over an upside down cross. Spooky Mulder would have picked up from the name of the church ("Church of Saint Peter the Sinner") that Peter was supposedly crucified upside down.
Bad writing.
@mynatsockacct@OctoAbbi The writers room is a big difference. My grandmother hated John Wayne movies because of the swearing that wasn't in earlier films.
@OctoAbbi@mynatsockacct I tend to agree with both of y'all. For example, Torchwood is too ... adult for me --- I watched 3 episodes. But I recommend to folks who watch ... that rating because there is literally no better "men-in-black" show out there. Yes, it was ... diverse, but well written.
@mynatsockacct@OctoAbbi That is not a joke. (It sounded to me like I was making a joke about narrative YouTube) Episode 5 discusses Clowns in Merrye Olde England:
The Secret Lives of Clowns EPISODE FIVE https://t.co/ZpwNAL6YUp
@mynatsockacct@OctoAbbi I just wandered into this thread, but must put in a plug for my mini-series "The Secret History of Clowns." While it is a mockumentary, I humbly submit the writing makes up for ... the cast of one.
