Hillel international is NOT a Jewish organization, it is a Zionist organization.

During my senior year at the University of Michigan, I met with Hillel professionals to discuss launching an anti-Zionist Jewish organization.

They said absolutely not.

There were dozens of Jewish organizations associated with the Hillel: reform, conservative, orthodox. GLBT Jews, environmental Jews, liberal Zionist Jews, pro-Israel Jews, they all got their own organization, and they were all able to benefit from their association with the Hillel, which provided them space, funding & other forms of institutional support.

But not that anti-Zionist Jews. We were banished from the Hillel. We were outside of the boundaries of Judaism, apparently.

It didn't matter that I was active and involved in the Jewish community, praying in the Orthodox minyan every shabbat morning, sometimes leading services.

The only thing that mattered to them is that I was not Zionist, and thus my anti-Zionist Jewish org was totally unwelcome.

Hillel forces Jewish students to chose between their Jewish identity & their politics -- tormenting Jews with the wrong politics, isolating them.

It is a toxic organization that has the blood of tens of thousands of Palestinian children on its hands.

🔳 israeli settlers set fire to Palestinian land on the outskirts of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah.

🔳 israeli settlers blocked a road and attacked Palestinian vehicles near the Efrat settlement, south of Bethlehem.

🔳 israeli settlers attacked the outskirts of Zeita Jamma’in, south of Nablus. israeli forces fired tear gas as Palestinians confronted the attack and detained a young man.

🔳 Settlers vandalised a water line supplying the Palestinian communities of Yarza and Ras al-Ahmar, east of Tubas.

🔳 Palestinians were wounded by israeli gunfire during an incursion into Ajjul, northwest of Ramallah.

🔳 israeli forces demolished a Palestinian home in Tarqumiyah. Palestinians then began rebuilding it, openly defying continuing policies of demolition and displacement.

🔳 israeli forces stormed Qalqilya and Azzun, east of the city. Confrontations subsequently broke out between Palestinian youths and israeli forces in Qalqilya.

🔳 A young Palestinian was detained from inside a petrol station in Abu Dis, occupied Jerusalem, while israeli forces also stormed Shuweika, north of Tulkarm.

🔳 israeli forces stormed Beit Imrin, northwest of Nablus, and raided a home during the incursion.

🔳 israeli forces raided accommodation sheltering Palestinians displaced from Jenin refugee camp in the vicinity of the Arab American University, while forces moved through the surrounding residential area.

🔳 A further wave of late-night incursions saw israeli forces enter Nablus through the al-Tur checkpoint, raid several homes in al-Tabaqa village in Dura, south of Hebron, storm Aqaba north of Tubas, and enter Jericho.

🔳 In Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, israeli forces carried out a campaign of raids and arrests. Musa al-Amour and Suleiman Abu Mfarreh were among those detained.

🔳 In Nablus, Khalil Slaibi was arrested after israeli forces raided his home in the Upper al-Ta’awun neighbourhood.

🔳 Another young Palestinian was detained during an israeli incursion into Batn al-Hawa in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

🔳 A particularly disturbing case emerged from israeli detention involving 15½-year-old Mohammad Hamid from Tuqu’, east of Bethlehem.

▪️ Mohammad was detained while wounded in February. According to the Prisoners’ Media Office and his family, his health deteriorated in detention before he was placed in a coma and transferred to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where his foot was amputated.

▪️ His family says they learned through Médecins Sans Frontières that doctors intended to amputate and later learned through the organisation that the operation had taken place.

▪️ Mohammad remains imprisoned. His amputated limb was returned to his family, who buried it in his hometown of Tuqu’.
