With broken hearts, we share the news that one of our community’s most dynamic advocate has passed away.

Jesse Tafalla, Jr., son of DMAHL founders Jesse Tafalla, Sr. and Nellie Tafalla, worked alongside DMAHL for many years, and was a leader in Rainbow LULAC.

He was active in politics and worked to protect human rights in Texas, provide vital information that helped our community be active in our democratic process, and preserve the stories of our community.

We will remember him and carry on his work and legacy.

It is with great sadness that we share that our Founder, Dr. George Keaton Jr., passed away last night after a brief battle with cancer. He was a remarkable man and historian, and we miss him greatly. An official statement is forthcoming. Please keep his family in your prayers.

She was a fierce advocate for justice and human rights in Dallas, and was a mentor to many prominent members of our community. Her legacy lives on in her people, and her statue will stand to tell her story.

Robert Marceleño Sr. graduated from Crozier Tech High School, and went on to serve in the Army during the Korean War.
The building that once housed Crozier Tech has been preserved and renovated into offices and businesses, saving the halls where Robert once studied.
