We’re supporting testing.
Kicking things off today at Golden Gates Park with the first free HIV testing event leading up to Regional Testing Day later this month.
If you’ve been putting off getting tested, this is a good opportunity to stop by. Testing is free.
BREAKING: The U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed former NFL star and political candidate Herschel Walker to serve as the United States' next ambassador to The Bahamas, filling a position that has been vacant for nearly 15 years.
The availability of self‑testing (Ora‑Quick) gives more agency to individuals and may help reach people who avoid traditional testing due to stigma or other barriers. @DMARCOORG is part of the partnership that made that possible inThe Bahamas . I’m really happy to see the uptick in self -testing.
We need to move to Long-acting PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) medications .
These are designed to prevent HIV infection with less frequent dosing than daily oral pills. These are ideal for people who want a more discreet or convenient option.
@DMARCOORG will be conducting a survey on the Preferences .Access, and Barriers to (LAP)
Current Long-Acting PrEP Medications:

💊 Long-Acting PrEP in Development or Trials:
2. Lenacapavir
•Type: Injectable or implant (in development)
•How it’s taken: Being studied for injections every 6 months.

At the Bahamas AIDS Foundation, we believe that true progress begins with listening to the voices of our community. Support can look different for everyone — whether it’s access to healthcare, education, compassion, or simply having someone to talk to.
As we continue our mission to provide care, advocacy, and awareness, we want to hear from you:
👉 What does support look like to you?
👉 How can we better serve individuals and families affected by HIV and AIDS in The Bahamas?
Your feedback guides us, inspires us, and reminds us that we are all in this together❤️ Together, we are stronger!

Big news for The Bahamas and all small islands. The world’s highest court ruled what we’ve been saying all along: big polluters have a legal responsibility to cut emissions and help pay for the damage they’ve caused.
For us, climate change isn’t a debate — it’s an urgent, life-threatening crisis. This is a huge step toward climate justice, and we’re not stopping here. We’ll keep fighting to protect our people, our islands, and our future.
Proud that our voice on the world stage helped make this happen.
🛑 Stop the Hate. Start the Healing. 🇭🇹🇧🇸
Too many Haitians living in The Bahamas face discrimination, verbal abuse, and systemic barriers—not because of what they’ve done, but because of where they’re from.
👣 Imagine being judged every day for your accent.
🚫 Denied a job because of your last name.
🗑️ Treated like you don’t belong—when all you want is to live in peace.
Let’s be honest: no one chooses where they’re born.
But we do choose how we treat people.
📢 It’s time to end the silence.
📢 It’s time to stand for justice.
📢 It’s time to say NO to xenophobia.
