Spoke this morning on the opening @ARC_Forum#ArcConference2025 panel with Os Guinness, Tsitsi Masiyiwa and @DrJohannesHartl, moderated by @JordanbPeterson, on the meaning of sacrifice.
Victimhood is a destructive notion as it disempowers us. Persecution, though undesired, is our strength. It is the paradox of Christianity; one of strength in weakness, and of victory in apparent defeat.
Coming from a Church that is a numeric minority in Egypt, but at the same time represents the largest Christian presence in the Middle East, we understand what it means to reject the notion of being ‘a minority’ and to reject the internalisation of victimhood. We do not have to be numerically large to be effective or change the world by sharing God’s love and shining His light with and into that same world.
Kajiado and Kitui counties are part of Amref's "Saving Lives and Livelihoods" initiative. Amref, led by Joram Onditi and Esther Wangui, met Kajiado's CECM Hon. Alex Leshinka to discuss health issues under One Health. The county welcomed collaboration.
And our young @AmrefUniversity a proud Number 3 standing tall among giants!

As the mother and sponsor @Amref_Worldwide is proud 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Today, led by our Country Director, @NdiranguWanjuki, and @GBWangalwa, Deputy Country Director, we joined Cabinet Secretary, @DeboraBarasa and @BarasaFernandes, Governor, @Kakamega_037 to advance our shared mission of strengthening primary healthcare. Together, we aim to ensure universal access to affordable, high-quality healthcare, with primary care as the core service model.
@Amref_Kenya has supported the establishment of 12 Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in Kakamega, part of the 78 PCNs we’ve helped develop across Kenya. With funding from key partners like The @GlobalFund and @USAIDKenya, we continue to support County Governments to train Community Health Promoters (CHPs) on health modules, including electronic health systems and social health insurance.
These CHPs, equipped with the skills and resources to serve their communities, are driving real change—conducting disease surveillance at the community level, encouraging pregnant women to seek early antenatal care, diagnosing and treating uncomplicated malaria, screening people for diabetes and high blood pressure, and ensuring referrals to healthcare facilities.
We commend the Ministry of Health and County Governments for their leadership and thank all our development partners for their unwavering support. #Amref4PHC #HealthcareForAll #CommunityHealth @Kemsa_Kenya

Building resilient healthcare systems is key to addressing the health impacts of climate change. This involves investing in healthcare infrastructure, disease surveillance, and emergency preparedness to enhance the health systems' ability to respond to climate-related risks. Strengthening health systems also improves overall public health and reduces vulnerability to climate change.
At #AHAIC2025, we will engage climate and health experts to explore the health impacts of climate change.

Today, our team supported the County government of Tana Tiver with assorted pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical commodities. These commodities will be used during the ongoing integrated health outreaches and other interventions as part of the Public Health Emergency Response occasioned by the floods in Tana River County. The floods have led to the displacement of people and disruption of healthcare services, especially around the Tana Delta.
Celebrating 🎉 50 years of the #EPI this #WorldImmunizationWeek! A salute to heroes like Mr. @DMucui, the driver behind the #Amref Mobile Vaccination Van, who received the Frontline Exemplar Award at #COP28.
✨His dedication extends beyond the wheel, actively engaging communities across East Africa to boost #vaccination demand. Here's to half a century of global health progress & the individuals making it happen!
