@FlandersBTour If I remember correctly he told an officer what had happened in his PoW camp. He was told not tell anyone incase anyone got wind that there were survivors. He was told to wait. Glad there were survivors to tell the truth.
@FXMC1957 As a Leeds United fan I was disappointed in the 2 decisions taken against Leeds. The Germans always played like the way they did and unfortunately scored twice without reply. Terribly ashamed of the actions of the fans after the match inside and outside the ground.
A secret russian ship bringing nuclear materials to North Korea?? What a wild tale of intrigue, coverup and military secrecy.
Along with the NordStream pipeline, the grey war really was alive and well in Europe

A Ukrainian 🇺🇦 E-300 heavy bomber drone capable of dropping 250kg bombs at up to a distance of 3,000km
Took over 100 hits from a Russian helicopter, anti-air rounds, and was still able to fly. Russian sources claim E-300s are very durable
❗️Ukrainian Navy launched strikes on Russian vessels that guard the Kerch bridge.
Sobol and Grachonok vessels are key elements of Russia's shore guard used to guard the Kerch bridge.
Systemic Ukrainian work to destroy Russian air defense in Crimea is paying off.
@VinnieSull1van@PubHistoryTours@Lost___London@ChelseaDan5 They are found regularly on the German market too. You just have to be thoughtful if you open the case. The dials are coated in Radium. That’s why I thought twice about obtaining one.
@Livesnooker Sits in the same spot. Noticed he was regularly shown behind Ronny on closeups. Yes he’s got the same kit on. I remember him from a few years back.
@daveainsworth63 His son Herbert 21, a Royal Airforce pilot was killed at the very beginning of the Second World War. He lies with his crew in the Sage Commonwealth war cemetery in northern Germany.
A huge happy 101st birthday to D-Day veteran Mel Hughes 🎉🇬🇧
Mel, from Abergavenny, served his country from just 18 years old — spending four years in France and Germany, including during the D-Day landings.
More than a century on, his story is one of service not only in wartime, but throughout his life. From supporting the Royal British Legion to raising thousands for charity, and even working as an usher into his late 90s, his dedication to community has never faded.
Marking the occasion, Monmouthshire MP Catherine Fookes described him as “an incredible man with an incredible story.”
Thank you for your service, Mel, and here’s to an amazing 101 years 👏

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Harry Waddingham at the age of 109.
Harry was the oldest known British veteran of the Second World War and a proud Sussex Freemason.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

This night in 1944, the RAF suffered its worst loss of the war in a raid on Nuremberg, Germany. 96 of 795 aircraft were shot down, 545 crewmen killed, more than were lost in the whole of the Battle of Britain. #WW2
