Displaced persons in Naka have started to relocate from their old tents to the new shelters. When all will be settled, they will choose the name of what it is simply called now “New Camp”. A step towards durable solutions or return to their home communities if conditions allow.

Yesterday in Borno, I witnessed how community-led reintegration changes lives.

With @IOM_Nigeria, the Ministry of Women Affairs & CSOs, we supported the rehabilitation of an orphanage which provides a safe haven for children affected by conflict.

In Ortese IDP camp, water scarcity once forced families especially women & children to walk 4km daily in search of water. With support from partners, @IOM_Nigeria built a water treatment plant that brings clean water to over 13,500 persons in the camp restoring safety & dignity.
