@ScottHarrisID @Nullis_sum @McFaul I wish that were true. He has another 'off ramp' and it is a really, really ugly one. Too many people are making the mistake of expecting him to act according to the rationale we would apply.
@robert_nichol @DerekBr39884581@TelegraphRugby@brianmoore666 Yep. Great example is the NZ tournament early in Covid. Tackler had to roll away East or West and do it fast. A few early pens in most games and then - shock horror! - players got the message and played to the ref's tune.
@IanJ21289455@DAaronovitch And your tweet is badly spelt and wrong. We do deny ownership of football clubs to individuals/entities. There is a 'fit and proper person' test that is applied. Some people fail it and so are not allowed to own a club. Abramovich passed it, which is a bit ridiculous.
@IanJ21289455@DAaronovitch No. Shames all English football. That we have let someone like Abramovich own one of our historic clubs is a national embarrassment.
@plount_os@VinnyDurham@Tony_Robinson If Russia was a democracy then they would have some kind of collective responsibility. That said, I do think that the Visa et al question is a valid one.
@pmpoc It really isn't fictitious. It exists, and isn't hard to find on this channel. It exists alongside the equally odious pro-Putin right. Odd bedfellows, who like to deny the existence of each other.
@STWuk@LindseyAGerman It's a silly article, but it will play well for kids who like to be 'different' in common rooms at colleges and universities. The constant repetition of NATO = aggressive expansion is a masterpiece of confirmation bias. Putin would love them, and the feeling is probably mutual.
@halvorz @pjie2 @K_G_Andersen@PeacockFlu No idea what any of you are talking about, but I want you to know I respect your expertise. My personal opinion is that A1/2/3 has been overegged and if we're honest, we're looking at a dominant AGH1GHT. Obvs could be wrong if C5>1! (Though you don't need me to tell you that!)
@WarwickLeaveEU@timfarron You do realise the the comments of those who patrolled the Leave campaign are now showing where their priorities truly lie. Farage, Banks et Al, bankrolled by Russia to spout their shite. My word, they're hating this now.
@glenninluton@peterjukes Don't recall saying everyone was happy. Did I? Or are you just looking for a world where after a conflict nobody has any grievance? If so, you might not want to hold your breath. Love the 'blue sky thinking' though ๐.
@glenninluton@peterjukes Quite a few, yes. Unless you've spent years living there, more than you. Also the many many public statements from both leaders and citizens. NATO interventions prevented genocide.
@glenninluton@peterjukes And the vast majority of people in the former Yugoslavia are grateful, but please carry on. I assume you had other tweets to follow?
@WeirdBristol@Stevevolkwriter I'm not sure constructive encouragement is part of the JD (though it doesn't hurt to be kind). Nothing wrong with rejection being blunt, but it should always be polite and civil and if any pleasure is taken in it, then it speaks badly of the person delivering.
@Tigerwooods777 @chriswoakes Saudi actions in Yemen are a disgrace, and I am shamed that Saudis are our 'allies' but US bombing in Somalia has a genuinely justifiable cause.
@Tigerwooods777 @chriswoakes Fair enough, but that https://t.co/2UgpNPqxrr not an accurate 'glimpse'. I can count at least 3 other countries that should be highlighted but they are not, because the US or Western allies aren't involved...
@RihoTerras@EPPGroup@general_ben@edwardlucas@politico And if Russia's worst case scenario transpires, does that make a man like Putin more or less dangerous? The invasion was in many ways a desperate act from a desperate leader. I worry about what his last throw of the dice might be.
@TheBarmyArmy@StuartBroad8 Nice that he can still pull out the outswinger every now and again. Hopefully he'll get the chance to do it this Summer. For England.
