Last summer/fall, DOSECC took part in a 3 month geotechnical #coredrilling program collecting core of the seafloor for @GZAGeoEnv and @DeepwaterWind for #offshorewind development. Such a great opportunity to help grow #RenewableEnergy! #offshoredrilling

The rig and equipment have arrived in Lake Powell! The barge was loaded yesterday for three weeks of drilling to understand mine spill contamination in lake sediments. Can't think of a more beautiful place to drill in UT. #USGS#coredrilling#science#utah#lakepowell
#GeothermalFactsandStats - #Geothermal Energy Utilization comes in 3 categories:
1. High temp: electricity power production
2. Medium temp: binary electricity power production
3. Low temp: direct use and district heating applications...

Over the past 5 years, #geothermal development has benefited from the global efforts against #climatechange and towards the #SDG7 targets, as well as from innovative financing strategies. Read the latest data here: https://t.co/eWh3K1zCh0 #EndEnergyPoverty
Congrats to @utahforge for winning the FORGE competition and helping move the U.S. into a new realm of geothermal research and development! https://t.co/SvQvi6UgNG
ANNOUNCED TODAY: @UUtah to receive $140M in R&D funding for new geothermal energy projects at a site near Milford, Utah, part of our Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy. https://t.co/myjeLWuaPy

Since last October, DES has been drilling 100-170 ft holes in UT to allow the client to install "steam lances" downhole to thaw 30-50 ft of permafrost because of undesired ground settling and we are almost finished. (~135 holes, ~20,000 ft) #complexprojects#geotechnicaldrilling
DOSECC's project on Surtsey was highlighted in Coring Magazine this month! It's great to have the right equipment for the right job with the right crew, the trifecta of a successful drilling project! #science#coredrilling#scientificdrilling#volcanodrilling#drilling#Surtsey https://t.co/RUQBVOlpnQ
Drilling in #Nevis is complete! The reservoir is proved and soon Nevis will be able to build their first #geothermal power plant!
Side note: Planned drilling depth was 4000 ft, not 400 ft as the article notes. Simple typo. https://t.co/UccQY5W4pK
@josekimotho@GRC2001 These details you would have to discuss with the client. But in short, we have achieved the required temperatures and flow rates for the client.
